Ability to sort local by standings

As a player who spends most of his time in nullsec watching local chat for reds, I'd really like having a way to sort local chat by standings instead of having to search through the entire list of players.

I actually would be unhappy with this change...

Imagine that roaming gang of frigates that enters your system. Why do you want to identify them?
a.) To get safe, so they don't catch you in a belt/anom. But if they do catch you in space, you have tons of backup in system, allowing the fight to escallate in a very natural and excellent manner. Your change makes it harder to catch that person in space, and frankly, I don't think that's a good thing!!!

b.) To form up a group of people to go kill them. However, you already have 10?, 20?, 100? people in system... and you have to wait until they enter your system to realize they are there? Really? IMO local chat is already too potent a tool for identifying hostiles, and I see no reason to make it easier on you! Use scouts, form an intel channel, be pro-active. If all your doing is sitting in station, spinning a ship waiting for some hostile to enter system so you can form up a gang and blap them... then... Uhg. This game needs more people in space, not more sedimentary pilots, and I think your suggestion is taking it the wrong way!

I understand how this would add a lot of utility to the local chat being used as an intel channel. And if CCP replaces local chat with an actual intel tool, I'd fully support this implementation within the intel tool. But until then, no!!!!

No. In addition to what the esteemed Gizznitt said, bots don't need the additional help knowing when to run away.

De'Veldrin's Corollary (to Malcanis' Law): Any idea that seeks to limit the ability of a large nullsec bloc to do something in the name of allowing more small groups into sov null will inevitably make it that much harder for small groups to enter sov null.

Yea, lets base what CCP should not do around the fact bots exist. Lets not allow the onboard computer to put your friends names at the top because of "bots". How about letting CCP worry about what people do illegally, and giving us tools that make sense when they are used properly.

Its a frakking text list. I'm flying a spaceship through space. I cant get my ultra powerful onboard computer to SORT a text list ???

I can also turn my 32" tv sideways and have a local list twice as high. What, I'm suddenly "hacking" now?

Surely you jest.

I apparently have no idea what I'm doing.

This, pretty much. Sure, we already have to do a lot of suspension of disbelief in this game, but that's pretty ridiculous. And anyway, it can be used just as much by hunters in highsec to quickly see when prey is in/entering their system.

Or you could just remove local and put out the bucket to collect your tears as your perfect effortless intel goes away. It will also solve the AFK cloaking "problem". And who knows, you may end up safer because those that want to kill you can't jump in to system and instantly know there is someone to kill.

What? isn't already easy and cheap enough???

Why not also a buzz sound when some non blue player enter the system?

No, local does not need an intel boost.

Because AFK is bad mmkay.

You should try high sec then, less work trying to watch for reds

As a PvE player in null, forced to play a certain way already by that awful chat list, I must disagree with you.

That chat list has already made it possible for myself, or any other PvE pilot, to get safe 100% of the time.
And the devs are making this ability get paid for by dropping the rewards in null sec.

Too much ice being mined in null? Can't lower the amount through PvP, since they know how to avoid it, so instead...
...they limited the availability of the ice, just like the ore was already.

Now we can be safe, sure.... we may not have anything worth the effort to mine, but we won't go boom.

Instead of PvP by combat, EVE just became a racing game for us.

Thanks a bunch, Local Chat.
