Can I fly a Nightmare and other Pirate Faction Ships in 0.5 to 1.0 areas?

De'Veldrin's Corollary (to Malcanis' Law): Any idea that seeks to limit the ability of a large nullsec bloc to do something in the name of allowing more small groups into sov null will inevitably make it that much harder for small groups to enter sov null.

In all seriousness, only combat capital ships can't be flown in highsec anymore. You can in fact fly a Nightmare in highsec, and any other kind of pirate ship.

I try and stay out of PVP for right now I want to get my skills up there before I start messing with PVP...More ISk never hurts.

Always remember to fly with some officer mods and a plex in your cargo for luck. Autopilot in 0.5 is also your friend.

FIFY a Rorqual is not a combat ship but it still cant be flown in hisec.

Yes pirate ships aren't actually pirate ships when a player jumps in.

Don't ask any more questions because after this, logic flips to VooDoo!

As you can't build them and you can't jump them in and you can't move them in, then you can't fly a capital ship in hisec unless it already is there and your name is Chribba.

If you fly an expensive loot pinata like a Nightmare and publicly announce that your pvp skills are bad, I fear the choice to get you into pvp will be made by other people.

I'd suggest to fly missions in a cheaper t1 battleship until you have the skills to actually defend your shiny.

LOL yea I fly missions in a Rifter, Thrasher or Catalyst. I think I might upgrade to a Scorpion and Tornado at some point.

A few weeks back, on one of my alts, I undocked in a 0.8, and before I could warp off, a Nightmare undocked. I locked the ship and started shooting it with my Slasher.

The guy docked up and was apparently having a bit of a panic attack, and was filling local with all sorts of nonsense and quackery about me being a hot-dropped.

CONCORD quickly dispatched me, so I docked up, reshipped, and decided that that was enough excitement for the moment, and went on my way.

...and completely forgot that CONCORD will continue destroying ships until your timer has run out.

And that, my dears, is how my alt lost their first two ships.

Skill 1: be able to fit your ship with T1 meta 4 modules :+/- 4 days

Skill 2: hit undock button

Skill 3: learn to intercept, point and hit F1

Skill 4: work your biceps because you'll drink a lot of full cups of tears.

Skill 5: post crap on GD crap threads.
