The harder a ship is to acquire has an effect on its price, so you are telling me that CCP had nothing to do with this? Roll

Even if it was much cheaper, it would still be equally worthless.

Then don't buy/fly one. The guy who got it popped sure did find some value in it.

I'm questioning CCP's ship balancing not asking for opinions on if I should buy a revenant or not.

Because trying to balance things based on cost is a ******* terrible idea.

It originally had a normal Carrier's jump range. They nerfed that because it was a bad idea.

The general idea is if something is rarer, it works better than the other things. And this causes it to cost more. This is how almost every MMO is.

CCP doesn't balance estemel's invul by how much ISK players are willing to pay for it, it is balanced by how rare it is to find one.

CCP made the revenant a very rare ship, yet it is completely useless and ugly. It costs alot because its hard to get. If Rev BPCs weren't so rare: trust me.... It would quickly become the cheapest supercap. And it would still be terribly useless, bad ship balancing.

Players are artificially inflating the rarity by not running the incursions that drop BPCs. If the Rev BPC dropped from hisec incursions, there'd be hundreds.

But it isn't dropping in hisec, so its rare.

CCP knew exactly what they were doing when they made it this way. Trying to do incursions in low will just get you killed.

Revenant BPC drops were rare as hell when people actually ran lowsec incursions, and this lasted over a year. I think you can count the number of times it dropped on one hand.

for the OP, while i understand that the ship has some bad balance (like most part of the sansha ships, with the exception of the nightmare), you have to take in account that CCP has only started balancing the ship lines, the time for the revenant will come Soon(TM), maybe more soon, as we know there's a capital rebalance coming, i dont think they'll leave that one for the pirate rebalance, of course, unless a dev says the contrary.

many ships have high value but lack of use, pirate ships are an example, with the exception of certain factions like angels where you see people using the whole line, from frigate to battleship, you dont see that with the blood raider ships or the sansha or the guristas, except for the battleships or certain cruisers (gila).

only time will tell, i expect to see something interesting for the revenant, i've always wanted to have the whole sansha ship line, but getting it is too complicated, maybe with the rebalance it will actually give an incentive to risk the ass on low sec incursions...

The great thing about EVE is that it doesn't work like almost every MMO.

What does balancing have to do with any of the things you mentioned? You explained why it cost so much, and then you start talking about balancing out of nowhere… why?

Since it's so expensive... it should be i-win button right... so CCP makes it so - and you all will scream pay-to-win.

Do I have it because it's so amazingly good looking, or good? Nope, because it's rare (and ofc bc I collect ships). The price is set by the consumers in this case not the other way around (and it was cheaper, but like said, the drop has been very limited pushing the price up).

IIRC it used to hve the best jump range of all super carrier. It got nerfed to where it is now. There probably was a reason for that.

They were worried about it's possible force projection which wouldn't have caused an issue because apart from the jump range a Nyx was still better in every way.

Though perhaps if it did drop from the mom in high, we'd see more incursions finished rather than just farmed forever.

So if you wish for the BPC to drop in one hand and **** in the other, which hand ends up with a revenant in it first?

I don't judge people by their race, religion, color, size, age, gender, or ethnicity. I judge them by their grammar, spelling, syntax, punctuation, clarity of expression, and logical consistency.

Personally, I think it's a great design. That would be reason enough for me to own one.

Unfortunately I lack a setup that could support one and I have no valid use for it.

Except this is a very brown, lumpy shaped, turd-like thing.

People buy fake poop. Why can't we let them buy poop like spaceship? They spend thier money, real or fake, on whatever the hell they want.

Why would anybody buy fake poop when you can get the real thing for free.

Because they're idiots sure of themselves being smarter that everyone else. This is exactly what commercials are made for, make educational dummies become even more stupid.

People still pay exorbitant amounts of money for wood framed cars so I'm not sure why this is a mystery to you.

The day those can dock I'll start buying a Nyx for the start and the Revenant because looks spikey at will Lol, until then having a carrier is already too much effort for little benefit.
