What if cloaking removed all local players from your overview?

You could still see ships in space visually, but local would be empty completely until you uncloak.
The longer you stay cloaked, the longer you lose access to local.

1 hour cloaked = 1 hour without local.

Cloaking skill would improve range from

level 1 = 10 km
level 2 = 20 km
level 3 = 40 km
level 4 = 65 km
level 5 = 88 km

anthing outside this range is not visible to the cloaker.

Every day in every way I improve my skills and get better.

I never really entered the whole AFK cloaky affair, but these days I'd be really scared to suggest ideas that actually involve _changes_ because knowing the EVE community., they would find a way to turn a new cloak change into a nightmare for people.

I would suggest one change, and that is that for every 1 AU that you get closer to a cloaked ship, the louder the Jaws theme gets played in the background music.

I apparently have no idea what I'm doing.

I think the septic tank in F&I is leaking.

Ill call the plumber.

Since the cessation of their usefulness is imminent, may I appropriate your belongings?

You might think it's because people are anti-change. It's not. The reason for the reaction is that the ideas are bad and and are usually stupid.

Mostly along the lines of" hey, make this one simple change (without thinking about or understanding how that will affect a super-complex system) and everything will be fine, nope no unintended game breaking consequences here"! GOOD ideas are championed, but that's not what people do. The idea sounds good to them because the are reacting emotionally to something that probably just happened.

Statistics show that 90% of "afk cloaking" threads come after a guy cloakys in a ratting system or the same guy loses his pimped PVE nullboat to a hotdrop.

Ok Ok, there are no such statistics, but I'd bet every isk in my wallet (all 3 of them, the Rent in Jita is too damn high) that the above is true lol.

See, now THAT is a good idea. But you'll never get ccp tightwads to pay the royalties to the company that owns the rights to the Jaws music so it's moot. Cool

Only if the game plays it multiple times at once.

So an idiot nearby a cloaked siegefleet gets it blasted at their ears 150+ times.

How about this, when a person cloaks, no one sees THEM in local.
I like that better. Makes more sense also don't you think?

That way those cry-babies who have the problem with pissing their pants are taken care of by way of ignorance.

Also, please show references where you have proved people are AFK?

I don't use Local when I'm Cloaked, I'm too busy with D-Scan, Tactical, moving Combat Probes and communicating with the fleet.

I am AFK cloaking in a system right now and no one seems too bothered by it.

Maybe I should be doing it somewhere other than Jita.
