Just wondering because its been over a month and goons have only managed to take 1 of 35 stations in Fountain and if we should expect a sov mechanic change before 2016?

if so how would this affect the great forever war?

Yes.

I don't judge people by their race, religion, color, size, age, gender, or ethnicity. I judge them by their grammar, spelling, syntax, punctuation, clarity of expression, and logical consistency.

CCP may fix sov before 2016.
CCP fix sov before may 2016.
2016 fix before CCP may sov.
May sov fix CCP before 2016.

... ah you get the picture.

Don't anger the forum gods.

SOV is slated to be fixed shortly after the CQ doors are opened to allow those working on SOV to leave their CQ.

have you considered that this might be at least partially because the CFC haven't been winning all the fights?

That covers both possibilities, I guess we're done with this thread now.

I think you find that we have been winning none of the fights. That one station was due to it being unused and forgotten about and we gave the old boy something to eat and he started wagging his repair service and decided to come be with us instead. Those other stations are not abused as much by the monster that is TEST.

Current sov mechanics heavily favor the defender but the 1 out of 35 stations thing is not a clear indicator of how long these wars take. In recent years the trend has been- 2-3 big fights and big losses/ station captures, critical systems lost and then the defense collapses.

Why this is? i dont know, how to fix it? I dont know either, hopefully the CSM has some ideas.

i would go more the problem is to flip a system you have to have a massive fight. we need solutions.

i dunno about this war but in 2012 there was another big war and many alliances (RedAlliance, Legion of xDeathx, etc) lost their space. Half-a-year after: regions Querious/Delve - another big list of lost/captured systems. It means that in 2012 people was doing sov wars.

I really don't know what was changed since then so current "0.0 overlords" have so big problems with "sov grinding".... But i suspect that this problem is not in sov mechanics but in player minds....

Didn't they lose the free sov they were given in Fountain? Working as intended?

You guys forgot the option of "Maybe, but they'll screw up 15 other things in the process", which as it's CCP's default state should have been the default choice.

De'Veldrin's Corollary (to Malcanis' Law): Any idea that seeks to limit the ability of a large nullsec bloc to do something in the name of allowing more small groups into sov null will inevitably make it that much harder for small groups to enter sov null.

Because you don't fight the enemy SOV but his morale. After a few big losses, you can cripple the opposition's morale so tehy stop logging on. From that point, you grind the SOV with next to opposition. According to the recent state of the alliance, TEST seems to have more morale than ISK but only one of those 2 thing need to be effectively broken. No ISK means no ship for opposing an invasion. No morale means no ship in space to make opposition.

TLDR : You grind the enemy's mean of fighting into oblivion then take his sov.

I dont think they have either. When Eurogoons and the US TZ squad were in Delve for 'fun' and fights, those timers saw 1000+ TESTies in fleet, now they struggle to crack 200-300. Isk was always an issue and they put a bandaid on it now by member donations and scamming more isk out of G Goblin but you are correct- morale is a big issue.

How is morale linked to timers and big fights and sov? These are the things the CSM and CCP need to ask themselves.
