Just came back after over. 1 year away, and was flying rifters as a solo pvp frigate but have heard they are no longer the king of 1-1 solo pvp. Can anyone direct me to a good t1 frigate for solo pvp against other frigates preferably Amaar ships. I just came back and want to fly amaar but been away so LNG I have no idea if their ships are worthwhile learning all the skills . Please let me know. Thanks...

Most T1 frigates are viable now and which one you prefer will depend a lot on your own individual style.

The Rifter is one of the less formidable frigates nowadays. All reigns come to an end.

Reopen the EVE gate so we can invade Serenity. Goons can go first.

While not the king anymore the rifter isn't the peasant that everyone makes out. It can work very well if you find a way to personally fit and fly it. Espcially because now everyone who reads the forums says "oh look a rifter! easy kill!" and don't give it the respect it still deserves. Same goes for the punisher.

^ Excellent read up there indeed, as are most articles on evealtruist.

Most T1 frigates are pretty well balanced out now but as you seem to be more into Amarr ships, may I suggest to buy and fit a bunch of Tormentors for your first few engagements? The new version combines very good damage output with decent speed and okay EHP that makes it more versatile than the Punisher and more forgiving than an Executioner.

If you're just getting warmed up again in solo PvP, I think it may turn out easier to pilot and have fun with.

If your base frigates skill for Amarr and your capacitor skills are good, then the Amarr frigates are as good as any race's ships. Even if they aren't, there's a missile boat in there somewhere.

*there used to be, now its a logistics ship (Inquisitor), as of today, all the amarr frigates use laser turrets, a shame, i still dont get why CCP decided to make the inquisitor a logistic instead of the Tormentor, it should have gotten more sense that way, if players used the tormentor as a combat ship, i dont care, but it should have been the right change (since the tormentor was actually, the original amarr mining frigate).
