direct buying "shopping list"

A feature where you can setup items and quantities in a "shopping list" and query the market for a grand total at the cheapest available price.

You would be shown an interface for range of purchase, so if you wanted it all in the station you're docked in you can choose that, or if you're willing to travel you can pick solar system, 1 jump, 5 jumps, etc. Much like a buy order.

An option for multiple buys of a "shopping list" also. e.g. I have a "drake" shopping list for materials for a single drake. I can query 10 x "drake shopping list".

This range option could be skilled based, either procurement or another (new) skill. The charge for the shopping list query could be skill based and standings based. to tie in with other buying/selling mechanics.

As this require multiple database calls, and some processing overhead, you would be charged per shopping list query. This could be based on the number of items you're looking up, factoring in range, or something similar.

Materials not available at the range you're searching could show a simple red x, much like if you're short on a manufacturing job material for anything not available at the range you're searching. you would still be charged for the shopping list query even though all your materials weren't available.

If you were feeling really generous with the feature you could allow a "buy" button to appear on the list for each item that was available at the range you'd selected. (or leave it as only a completely available shopping list would return an option to buy).

I did take a look at other suggestions and the closest I saw (but in reverse) was a multiple item sell option. But apologies in advance if I'm covering old ground.

Nice idea. Allows for an expansion of the market career path, and would be a handy tool.

Can anyone think of a downside?

downside could be that it has you picking everything up in Rancer ... or other hub of scum and villainy.

One of the bitter points of a good bittervet is the realisation that all those SP don't really do much, and that the newbie is having much more fun with what little he has. - Tippia

so one usecase would be: i want buy a ship plus all fitting mods, give me a price when i buy around dodixie and 3 jumps range, taking the cheapest prices. yes? but maybe you would like to minimize jumps instead of overall price?

your risk would be that some item is not available in trade hub and you would pay an unreasonable price - so you would like to see/check all individual prices, too, before commiting the order, right?

maybe you could provide a UI mockup and link it here so we can provide more feedback and dev get an idea, too.

+1 from me. i dont see any reason why spending isk shouldnt be streamlined. adding this to my ideas list.

sorry about the delay.

I was only gunning for cheapest price, if you want a shorter jump range you'd pick a shorter search range in your initial lookup.

Again, depending on how generous the devs wanted to be it may return individual prices in your list, or just a grand total.

As regards interface;

I suppose you could add another tab to the market, where you have "search" and "quickbar" you could also have "lists"
you can right click on an item in the market and "add to list".
If you have no lists created the item would get added to a list called "new".
adding from the market list (either browser tree or search) adds the item to the list with a default quantity of 1.
on the quickbar you can right click on a folder and add all items in that folder to a list with a default quantity of 1.

On the lists you can edit quantities to suit or choose to "buy" the list.

on selecting "buy list" the window for buying would come up giving a range option, and a quote for the cost of using the list feature (much like a manufactoring quote).

Then much like stated before, you get your grand total (maybe with individual prices, or option to buy what's available) and if you're happy to buy you can click ok/confirm
