Heth - why won't they let us go after him already!

So it's been a few weeks since the Haatomo event, and as I recall, Heth and Tolen were tracked to the Otsasai System almost immediately after fighting concluded in Haatomo. There was even a massive fleet all prepped and ready to go (and there was also that one time when a suspect flagged BS came out of the Otsasai Gate when a bunch of us were orbiting. That was fun :)), but nothing happened with the event. It's been a few weeks now, and I need some important political figures to shoot missiles at. So why won't they let us go after Heth yet?

Because:

1: Shun is right, people hate Heth.
2: The bragging rights for killing Heth are not to be trifled with and the dealer of the killing blow will go down in EVE's history.
3: There is a remote (very, very remote given that ISD Mercury ≠ ISD AURORA) chance that there could be some in-game rewards for killing Heth or (god help you) bringing Heth in alive.

Having said that, there are two reasons I can immediately think of as to why Heth and Tolen are still at large, John:
1: CCP generally winds down on events in summer, as the staff goes on holiday so there won't be as many yellow texters around.
2: Tolen (the presumed carrier of Heth) has fled into lowsec, and the system in question has been broadcast far and wide. A large insurgence into Oimmo could attract unwanted attention, if you catch my drift.

Hopefully, Tolen will show his face soon, but the fact is he won't be popping up for a little while.

EDIT:
Couple of pointers that might be of interest:

One of Oimmo's neighbouring systems is home to a Guristas' recruitment center, and is the start of that faction's epic arc. Could be problematic if Guristas actors start popping up.

Oimmo is situated in a small "island" of lowsec. Whilst still a fairly large amount of unsafe space, a thorough manhunt would work, as Tolen's ship is hemmed in by Caldari hisec (which he can't enter without being shot at) and Northern Coalition nullsec (where you Just Don't Go).

Heth sympathisers are about the system, and one is believed to have Batphoned up a carrier.

Figured these might be of interest.

Due to the Law of (Un-)popularity, a very few players should wish to face Heth in single combat.

If Heth has to go out completely, which I somehow doubt, it will be with a big bang, likely not attributed to a single player.

Just beacause people don't him dosn't means we will kill him.
He could disapeared for ever.
We could find his corpse in some sever with a bullet in his head not knowing who did it.
He and his still loyal people can start terrorist attacks.
He may just comit suicide beacause when he started his rebelion on Piak he expected to die there.

And other things and suff.

-Disappearing forever would be tremendously lame. Talk about going out with a whimper. Unlikely.

-Not sure what "sever" is supposed to mean, but also tremendously lame. In order for there to be a murder mystery, people have to give a **** about the victim. The only reason people might want to know is so they can kill they guy who stole their kill. Possible, but hopefully not.

-Much more likely. Wrings some more content out of him. And leaves the possibility of his death later on.

-Lame, for the same reasons as the murder mystery, only then there's not even any mystery. It would complete the character as a bad Hitler imitation, though.

Apparently, the forums come equipped with anti-Godwin's law filters. Not that I disapprove, but annoying in the few legitimate uses.

Heths Apparent location has since moved in Black Rise..however it is unlikely we will see anything soon as many of he CCP staff are on holiday as previously mentioned..of course if someone does find him and informs the rest of us then a Large Fleet will converge on him within moment rest assured

What's to say that he would be stupid enough to put himself in a position where he can be shot at, given his apparent escape from Haatomo?

What's to say he was even on board Tolen's vessel and didn't leave on a different one, at a different time? That's an assumption made entirely by players, we've not released a single word to back that up with solid evidence, just a loosely worded news story that he was seen "boarding a ship".

There are a lot of unanswered questions regarding Heth, who despite opinions on the contrary, is quite an intelligent man. There are also a lot of assumptions floating around that have neither been confirmed nor denied.

Having Capusleer's bring Heth down in some "Here is an actor go shoot him" would really do nothing for the lore.
At this point I am more than happy to have the rest of Heth's life (and death) outlined in novels and chronicles, we played our part and will go down in history for it, no need to make every important event in EVE's history a "shoot the important NPC" event.

I mean good grief. You get so over burdened with the damn bones and scales. You can't carry all that stuff. I mean who sinks all their points into stamina so they can carry four hundred pounds of dragon bones? Honestly?

The public opinion is against Heth, and quite frankly, the megacorps and their board of directors weren't appreciating his dictatorship; not only can they help lower his popularity with defamation and biasing of the news (not like there needs to be any), I suspect that the majority of Caldari wouldn't care to see Tibus Heth ever resume his position of power, and I don't think any pirate factions would be interested in harboring him - Guristas are opposed to the caldari military-state, Serpentis have no gain from doing so (also, the Dominations branch of the Cartel probably would oppose the move, and the Serpentis corporations do indeed rely on the Guardian Angels), and Mordu was willing to let his son go on an assassination mission to take out Tibus Heth years ago.

I'm sure his only support would be a few capsuleers who are loyal to the Provists and/or Templis Dragonaurs.

Rather than have him end up as some capsuleer's kill-of-the-week i'd prefer to see Heth's character and the TD's sub-faction developed now that they're both persona non gratis with the State again. Turn them into the Fed and State's number one threat and have them turn up periodically over the next few years whenever things need a 'real bad guy/group' to shake them up a bit. Because I'm guessing there's a list of people and groups Heth would like to have greeting him when he gets to Hell rather than the other way around.

Also, good call Kyoko and Evi. :)

Is it just me that would love to see Heth piloting a supercarrier sometime?

I'd fly logistics for him. Not because I like anything about what he stands for and does, but because he's been such a source of chaos in the EVE universe, and as a ruthless capsuleer I recognise - where there is chaos, there is cash.

Then he shows up in a Navy Issue Nyx with all the trimings and doesn't even try to hide the Gal Navy FoF Transponder. It would be funny if Heth turned out to be an ultra deep Gallente spy.

After the completely uninteractive hellmess that was Empyrean Age, the only satisfactory - and indeed the only acceptable - ending to the sordid Heth saga is one that capsuleers get to dictate.
