That's the ticket. Hopefully, that's not a huge pain from the dev's point of view. It does imply a fork in the dev process...

Which fork are you referring to?

It's not like they'll have to make things differently. The textures are already made at super high resolutions and then scaled down before being released into the game.

A new option in the textures menu for Ultra High" or something like that? Sure why not. More options are definitely better and its a nice gimmick for those with the right hardware. Make it so.
