What is important is how CCP will learn from this and I will bet isk that they will automate this process in future.

Meight, the CFC is on a Posting CTA, and you expect logic? What are you smoking? Can I have some?

CCP you just ****** one of the largets fleet battels in eve history... THANKS!

In the attempt to improve the overall fight quality and node stability in the Z9PP system at 22:41 UTC by moving away all non-critical services from this node, our engineers unfortuntely made a mistake and actually moved the critical system from the current server node instead of moving all other systems. As result every pilot in this system lost connection to the node and therefore to Tranquility.

The system Z9PP is online and accessible again now.

It is extremely unfortunate to make such a mistake and we apologize deeply for disrupting one of the truly epic battles in the history of EVE; especially since this battle already raged on for several hours and was still heating up for more! We are very sorry about this incident and will make sure that such mistakes won't happen again.

Don't worry, Phantom. When highsec is done burning nullsec and turning it into one big mining and small scale PVP belt, this kind of thing won't happen any more.

So don't worry, we got this. Big smile

Still, while I think all of nullsec should burn, I'm sorry this happened. It's better when everybody has a good time, even when getting shot in the face (in game, of course).

Downtime doesn't remove ships from space or reset aggro timers, but node remapping does? Look, EVE PvE has never been a strength, the only thing that remotely matches server mechanics during fights in importance is the economy, and you **** it up this bad?

Why does this function differently than downtime? Why is it possible to "accidentally" do this without a warning that you're doing it to an extremely full system? Why the hell are you trying to excuse saving hundreds of billions of isk, if not over a trillion, with an "oops"?

There's a reason that critical functions are normally engineered with multiple checks and failsafes, because human error always DOES exist, which is why it's completely ******* inexcusable that CCP has nothing in place to mitigate that possibility here. "We'll make sure this won't happen again" isn't sufficient, fix how it was even possible to begin with, and fix it on multiple levels.

what is the point of all this? if i was a player in the test aliance i would be just us mad that some thing like this could happen. its point blank cheating and takes away all the meaning of gaming and what comes with it. we the player dont need this kind of intervention other ways we would be playing some cheap f2p and buying our uber itams so we could pown for pur money.

will all the goon ships be restored? or the game reseted to the time before the battle started? and what will happen to the ships test didnt loose? becouse if they get to keep them its like CCP giving ingame cash to this group and an advantage where there should be non.

the best solution for now i think is to make a monster fleet and start jumping from system to system make ich server grid crash. remember not all systems are equipep or capped so that they can hold more than 1500 players some are small trade hubbs and are made to hold 2000 jita is closed att that stage. lets make the game crash =)

oh and forgive my engrish plris =P

No, no you wouldn't really. Oh, you might pretend to be but not really. Not if you were in your carrier.

Given that this is not the first time this has happened I think that a serious investigation is mandatory.

Similar situations happening at peculiarly strategic times for Test (in both cases saving large amounts of supers that under normal circumstances would have been killed) inspires little trust in apologies that CCP has been so quick to publish.

As paying customers we deserve answers.

This is ****** up CCP. I don't care if my side benefited this time, you've been doing **** like this the entire war and messing up the natural course of events for all sides.

You need to have some serious reviews to prevent these problems from impacting the sandbox gameplay you tout as a core feature.

so in your opinion ccp should do nothing to try and keep the server going and just let it die every time there is a big fight?

Got to say, I'm enjoying the smug posting from N3 and TEST.

Because getting kicked off the server to save your ships is a victory right ?

This.

Where are those carriers because they sure as **** weren't on scan

Magic happens such that the server apparently forgets about the ships since that isn't stored when the node is remapped I suppose.

The same thing happened to CFC dreads. Aggression is not stored following a node crash or remap. It is not a new thing.

I don't care who it happens to, it is just insanely stupid. If it was the case for those dreads, then yes they should be dead, too.

In spite of all the idiots sperging on this thread, I have one honest question: Why weren't the tackled capital ships still there when we logged back in?

They were in warp disruption bubbles with agro timers. According to everything I know about logoff mechanics, they should not have moved anywhere, regardless of server crashes, characters log offs, or any amount of tinfoil.

I'm willing to accept that it was a simple mistake and there was no foul play, but only if you can give us a solid explanation for why the carriers disappeared from the field, in contradiction to well-established logoff mechanics.

Please explain CCP.

this needs to be answered.

Probably for the same reason that CFC dreads we had tackled and bubbled weren't still there when we logged back in to blap them and the CFC refused to play. Except that happened multiple times.

A node reset removes everyone from space.
