I have a active subscription but I am gonna buy a plex to apply. Do I need to cancel sub then apply it so my CC doesn't get billed or will it just extend game time and then charge CC after plex time is up?

if you cancel the sub you can still play until the 30 day timer runs out, make sure you apply the plex before that.


edit: just to clarify, what you are cancelling is any future payments, not your current subscription time, that has been billed adn paid for already.

Yeah I know that but I'm asking if I even need to cancel to apply the plex. I don't want to use it then get charged on the credit card too. I doubt it would happen but I also never received a purchase from the eve store years ago lol

Never actually tried it, although I don't see why you would have to cancel the sub.

I would have expected it to just add game time to your account, so that the date of the next sub fee is put back a month.

But would be interesting to see if anyone could confirm that.

Your first post is correct. The PLEX will extend the time until your next billing happens. No need to cancel the credit card sub itself, unless you want to.

if you apply the plex, when the 30 days run out no money will be charged on your credit card. the "subscription" via credit card wont be cancelled, so if the next month you don't apply a plex, you will have a payment charged.

just don't forget about the credit card subscription being active if you play with plex for a long time, after a year of playing with plex i decided to let one account expire and ended up with a payment charged to an expired credit card, not sure if it did something to my credit rating, not that anyone cares about it anymore, heh

Unless this has changed?

You can apply a PLEX any time you wish as long as the account is active, be that on a remaining sub, or via hours for PLEX.

If you are on recurring CC payment, you have to cancel to terminate that contract otherwise you agreed CCP can continue to bill you next time you run out of time.

Once you cancel, any remaining game time will continue running. If you apply a PLEX before that remaining game time runs-out you extend your time 30 more days as usual. If you let your game time run out, you either have to sub again, or use hours for PLEX to buy and/or apply a PLEX.
