I know a few women in eve, but now that i think about it i probably do know 50 males to one or two females.

How to attract more? You cant, its the curse of the internet and the nature of the spaceship beast, girls just dont like huge metal ships in a vacuum it seems.

CCP Eterne, how is this post not inappropriate as well? More misogyny.

Are you a devil or an angel

Sent here from heaven or from hell?

The goons stated goal in EVE is to stop other players (At least 96% of whom are of course men) from having fun.

Obviously, goons are all women.

I always though it was about getting thier fun no matter if it's fun or not for others.

Pointing out a perceived statistical psychological difference between the genders hardly qualifies as misogyny.

Similarly; I'm pretty sure I hate you, but it has nothing to do with gender stereotypes.

Even though I don't much like having my posts removed, I'll wager a guess that CCP Eterne saw a (potential) train wreck about to occur, starting with a post that was seemingly intended to do nothing more than incite.

Truly, CCP has acted with much patience for this thread, the fact that it has not been locked.

The above post seems to be of good intent, if not a stab at being humorous -- the first sentence shows some self-deprecation for one's gender. The rest is an opinion, it seems.

Unless your original post was in jest/sarcasm (in which case some public clarification would presumably be to your benefit), I know as much as I care to. Projecting hatred into benign discourse is one of the extremely few things in this world I won't stand for. The issue causes me some amount of dissonance, but the line has to be drawn there; otherwise, it's impossible to maintain civil intellectual discussion.

I did overreach when i said I hated you; I guess I was going for a bit of rhetorical punch.

It certainly would have helped the situation. Like I said, there were two perspectives with no overlap, and the whole story was sad.

Awareness of perspective is not "walking on eggshells," it's awareness of perspective--empathy, if you prefer. Parking lots, elevators and garages are scary places for women to encounter men because of crimes men commit against women in those places, and so their caution is entirely rational. It's also easy to defuse, or at least lessen, that caution by a) not committing those crimes, and b) not acting like you're about to. This is just decency, akin to not making loud percussive noises around veterans with PTSD. There are no eggshells involved.

I wouldn't read to much into it. If I were to start hating people, I'd hate them for their ideologies and yours would be high on the list.

Is it not at all possible that this type of gameplay is not attractive to the majority of women?

Other male dominated hobbies:

Sports
Hunting
Survival
Fishing
Driving

Just because there is not a 50/50 split doesnt mean its broken and a disproportionate amount of advertising money needs to be spent on 1 demographic.

I giggle because, aside from hunting, I'm a gun nut and a trained rifle instructor with the NRA P Women are actually better shooters than men. Twisted

I also like fishing and other outdoors sports. White water rafting is a personal fav.

So....I don't think all those are male dominated very much anymore.
