Hi everyone, sorry to bring this up if it's been hashed out repeatedly.

I've just returned after about a year of being away to find NPCs are now switching targets in missions.
I was just wondering if anyone else is finding the NPCs are a little too eager to feast on hobgoblins?
I am putting out about 1300 dps when I get close in 4s but I find that the NPCs are still switching off me to target my drones, I was wondering if anyone thinks a "Threat" system should be introduced to help balance this?

or alternatively what may work is reducing the sig on drones so they are harder to alpha for rats.

I can see the logic behind the change but I'd like to see a little fine tuning to the system so I'm not repairing/buying new drones every mission.

The elite frigs switch, the regular ones ignore drones if they are already locked on you. Get agro, kill elites, release the Dogs of War!

Yeah, that logic works really well, unless you are in a drone boat, then you are screwed.

In a drone boat you drop sentries at the beacon, and blap frigates first - for both avoiding drone aggro, and because it stops frigates getting under the sentries tracking.

drone aggro is only a problem for people who use small drones to make up for poor application of their main weapon system.

Works just fine. Warp to beacon. Jump 100km with LMJD. Release sentries. Kill elites.

I was running cruise typhoon with sentries, before they changed the typhoon. 120km drone targeting range, I had 3 drone links in utility highs. About 320 dps from sentries, 200+ dps from cruise. Worked well. Now typhoon is just a cruise boat :(

Rats aggro drones according to size. Lights aren't bad at all, as only elite frigs shoot them. Mediums are harder to manage, and heavies are screwed - volleyed by BS aggro every single time. And no, hp bonus from droneboats don't make a difference. Sentries are manageable because they have tank. You just have to stay next to them.
