Best way to get 5.0 Caldari State standings?

I need to get 5.0 standings to set up a POS in an 0.5 system within Caldari space.
I've been doing some research on this, but a vast majority of existing information out there is outdated.

My question is, how can I achieve a 5.0 standing with the Caldari State relatively quickly?

Do all the carer agents (caldari and amarr), a few data center once, the SOE epic arc and 5-6 cosmos missions + train connections to 3 or 4 and that's it. Takes a weekend

Just watch out for how low your other standings go.

I've done the Caldari career agents a long time ago. I didn't know the Amarr ones counted. Already did the SOE arc. Any specific cosmos missions to recommend?

last I checked connections doesn't work for pos standings, as the corp average uses unmodified standings.

but yes do all said above, and after that if you aren't high enough either blitz level 3 or 4 missions for story lines, whichever you can do the fastest.

How do I initiate the Amarr one? I did the Caldari ones when I first started out, and the game pointed me in their direction through the tutorial interface.

doing amarr storylines gives you derived caldari standings up to 7 I think. aka caldari likes amarr up to 7.0, although amarr only likes caldari up to 5.0, so I ran caldari missions (9.84 caldari standing) and my amarr faction only ever went up to 5.0, where my alt ran mostly amarr missions and has high amarr (over 8.0) and thus his caldari standings are high too (Although I did run a bunch of caldari missions to get CN standing on him, so his caldari standing is over 8.0 too)

as for the career agents note that there are 3 sets of them for each faction: http://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Career_Agents

That's not what it means. It's not that it stops giving out derived standing gains at 7, but rather it gives less gain for Caldari than for Amar, if the storyline is for Amar.

My amarr standing is at 5.0 with no standings transactions in the log, aka they all happened a really long time ago. Where my caldari transactions date back to 2011 (looks like I have some other ones from 2010 even). looks to me like it stopped giving me derived standing gains.

all the career agents, not just one set. Each race has three starting areas with a set of career agents for each area. All tutorial and career agent missions are stoylines, as you complete each set you get a big bonus. Then there are 3 full sets for amarr, best to do the amarr first as they will not increase caldari standing beyond 5.0.

For the cosmos missions google a guide, there are tones of them, cosmos have not been touched in years so even the old guides are uptodate. Becareful as some of the higher level cosmos missions require you to go into or through low sec. The only one I had trouble with was the one that gives the Michi implant as a reward. You have to got through a low sec system, to a high sec island for the mission. There are a group of pirates that hellcamp the entrance. you can get in, but they usually have a grid set up to break your cloak so even a cloaky ship will not get out.

There is also the Caldari epic arc. It also has some branches that take you through low and/or null, but are only couriers so fairly easy to get through. it was a lot more worthwhile when the hasyoda lab was worth over 1 bil, now it is only about 250M. But still a great faction boost.

You can also buy a lot of faction standings by picking up the tags for the data center missions. You can collect the tags yourself, but it takes for ever. Just like the cosmos mission items, if you got the isk to buy them, it can safe you a lot of time.

You are correct. But the connections skill lets you do level 3 and 4 missions when your raw standing is much lower, so you can gain standing much faster. So while it isn't used for computing the standing needed to put that tower up, connections skill amplifies your efforts getting there. I suggest that if your goal is standings for POS anchoring, it is worth getting connections 4 before you start working on missions - especially data center ones that can only be done once.

Some of the evelopedia entries are incorrect for some of the data center agents, as some of them need higher standings than you'd expect for level 3 agents.

Do COSMOS missions, but before you start you need to train for blockade runner because you are going to do a lot of courier missions to/into low sec systems. Most of missions are **** easy I did it on my harbinger.

If you have enough isk you can buy caldari COSMOS mission items pack and you can blitz into all missions in week maximum, I finished all COSMOS missions in 1 week jumped from ~3.2 caldari standing to 8.4

DMC, do career and circle agents missions negatively affecting the opposite faction standing like data centers do ?

Yes, all Event Agents give both negative and positive standings towards all the other Factions.

The only exception is the Epic Arcs which only gives positive standing gain to it's specific Faction.

Have you notice that the starting circle agent for the Gallente Federation( Iole Radin) no longer exists in game. Haven't checked any other factions but have they all been removed or just changed?
