Hey guys.... this isnt another I hate afk cloaky thread.

This is just so ideas I had in my head.
Now local is very important to the mechanics and that we pretty much would have no overview or anything if local didnt exist but

Soo my main questions are the following:

1) Could CCP make it possible so that we could Blink off/ or hide our selves from local chat(alot like in other chats where we dont appear unless we post).
this wouldn't mean getting rid of local but simple giving us the option to hide our appearance in local.

This might be a stupid Idea I dunno what do you guys think.

Local has nothing to do with your overview :P

Hiding from local would negate local as an intel mechanic and jumps straight back to the "remove local" arguments which have been going on for 10 years or so.
So no. Not unless a good intel mechanic is introduced to kspace to replace it.

Feel free to live in wspace if you don't want to show in local Lol

The idea of delayed local the same as wormholes space has been brought up many times.

And been shot down just as many times.

So yeah, sorry, you haven't thought of anything new here.

Instead of hiding yourself from local, just make it so that you can give yourself a blue standing.

Because such a scanning mechanic that isn't tedious, requires a very CPU intensive extended probe launcher, unable to tell you pilot name, or is able to separate empty ships from piloted ones exists yet.

Lol I think the intel of having an alt in system docked up who can tell you whos in system is really lazy and requires no skill at all.

Me personally i`m all for afk cloaking..

But if you could hid yourself for local even if only for 0.0 and low sec, it would mean:

Better use for black ops and covert fleets
More need for scouts on gates
More chances for surprise attacks
I think it would just make things more interesting....

All I want is a total revamp to give us the information based on my criteria above.

Then we can have delayed local in null sec. I'd leave normal in local in low sec so that feels more like a transition to null.

high - instant local, concord
low - instant local, sentry guns
null - delayed local, no sentries

Seems reasonable.... maybe we could make it instead of all low sec having instant local.. all .3 system and down have delayed local

If you want your free ganks go to wormhole space. They have no local out there.

To me this all seems to boil down to people wanting to "PVP" against people that have no desire to fight.
It almost seems the same as the whole "wardec argument".

If people scurry away and dock its because they have no desire to PVP with you... Removing peoples ability to make the choice is not a solution.

If you want to PVP then why don't you go looking for someone who actually wants to participate?

All i see here is -

"Miners always see me coming in my pvp ship and run away"
"When our pvp FLEET warps in; all of the solo pvpers and small gangs run away"

That's just being sensible... Its been hammered into me to "pick my fights" since I started playing yet when people choose not to fight because the odds are stacked against them the aggressor always cries about it.

Edit - Switched from mobile phone to PC to reply and i think i may have posted this in the wrong thread (woops) still sort of applies though
