Hey guys,

I'm new to the game and I have purchased it. I agree its a great game but i'm having trouble getting interested in it.

I know there is alot to do in the game, but I don't really know what to do. I log in and just sit there not knowing what to do..

Do you guys have any tips for me? Things that I can do or get intrested in?

Came expecting link was a quick troll of newbie, left disappointed more in myself than any one else. What an amazingly helpful chart. Wish I had seen it when I was new. Now I'm going to use it like a checklist :)

Whatever you think of me, don't assume things. Think before you post. If you had ever played my game, you'd know I am actually honest (probably the only honest isk doubler.)

Now, back on topic...

As many people know, I am very philanthropic and love helping people, especially new people.

I was going to ask our new guy if there was something in particular that convinced him to try the game.

If you are just sitting in station wondering what to do, you should start with the missions. Earn yourself some isk, skillbooks, ships, and items. Try all the various mission types.

If you decide to try mining, that is up to you. I would put this off until later though, as you will have to pay the New Order 10 million isk for a mining permit. You can read about these awesome people at www.minerbumping.com You might even decide you want to become a Knight of the New Order.

You can try hauling items from one system to another for profit, either on your own, or by accepting courier contracts. Though I think that will bore you. If you enjoy market trading, you might have a better chance just station trading- where you sit in a station all day (like now!) buying low and selling high. I'm a bit of a trader myself.

You can always join a player-run corporation. Just keep in mind that your employment history never goes away. So try not to hop from one to another too many times. That is unless you'd rather infiltrate corps for the sole purpose of blowing their ships up. If so, I know the perfect organization to help you.

But to really help you, I think an in-game chat would help. If nothing else, just do some research and try out the various options.

If you want to scam people though, you're on your own. I don't condone that sort of thing.

Just pointing out that you do not have to pay the New Order or get a "mining permit". If you choose to get one they wont blow you up, if you don't get one they might blow up if you actually happen to see them.

So in other words, this is not a requirement and you can mine as much as you like without the "permit" Big smile

Does anyone think it possible that this is an alt of Erotica 1, to help establish credibility?

So this guy is brand new and seemed to be losing interest right away. He might have unsubscribed. I helped him find some direction and helped him with some funds. I was going to just give him 50m and a collection of ships, but that was too much work.

We all need to do our part to help keep the community strong. I do what I can.
