I'm not gonna lie, had no idea what I was doing. I now realize when I'm done hacking the object comes out, but I'm too little too late and it's gone. Is there a way I can restart the mission or...?

I did read it.... It only tells me I MAY be able to, I've opened a ticket but I was hoping for a real response.

Tickets for stuck characters, especially in career tutorials, usually get a response within a couple of minutes.

If yours hasn't yet been answered make sure it's petitioned under 'Stuck Character'.

Given what I've seen from other folks running into this same thing, I think the "may" will probably be a "will." Especially for newbies, these common mistakes seem to be easy to fix and I've seen plenty others fixed.

Had the exact same problem. My ticket was answered literally within 2 minutes, even though it was the middle of the night. They reset the mission.

However, watch out - I tried the mission again, found the System Core and hacked it, looked very carefully but still nothing came flying out. I tried it once more and then finally the Data thingy came out and I could grab it. Not sure whether that's the way it's supposed to behave or if the mission is just glitchy.

I'm not sure if I understood it right, but when the cargo leaves, you just left click ir, and your ship kind of uses a tractor beam to take the object from inside. it will be in your inventory. now, if you hacked it and it disappeared, I don't know if you can get it back...

When I was on that mission, there came nothing flying out. So I hacked it again and again, and when nothing happened, I went "home". I was pretty fed up with the thing. But then I thought I'd give it one more try, so I went back. This time the container came flying out, but I was too slow. Then I hacked a couple of times more (didn't suckseed in hacking, was thrown out some times), but finally managed to "get hold" of the thing.

I recomend zooming out before hacking (seemed easier to catch the cargo with distanse), and then remember to left-click... And then you suddenly have the paper in your inventory.
