Bounty Mechanics for Traded/Biomassed Characters

All of the information I can find on bounty mechanics is pretty light on details beyond how to place them and how much a player gets for killing someone with a bounty.

Questions

If a character puts bounties on some characters and is then biomassed at a later date, what happens to the bounties? Do they remain on the selected player or do they go away? If the bountied character's account lapses, does the bounty just evaporate into the vaccuum of space?

If a character puts bounties on some characters and is sold, what happens to the bounties? Do they remain on the selected player or do they go away? If the bountied character's account lapses, does the bounty return to the character that was sold?

If a character who has a bounty on them is sold, is the bounty shed or does it transfer with the character?

If a character who has a bounty on them is biomassed, does the bounty return to the character who placed the bounty?

Thanks for your help

Who cares Bounties have been and still are a joke. Nobody takes them serously. Actually it is more of a status symbol now atleast for pirates. Seriously if you put a bounty on a pirate with a -10 sec status all your doing is wasting your isk.

I care. The overall mechanic is not my concern and I'm not interested in debating it. I just want to know how biomassing and character sales effect bounties.

If a char is traded, the bounty follows it. No change.

If a char is biomassed, afaik the issuer gets 80% back.

My bounty is bigger than your bounty. Cool

But yeah, i completely agree. Its great that it works now, shame all it amounts to is a random additional 20% isk from your random kill. The bounty-hunter profession is still dead. Sad

Post with your main, like a BOSS!

And no, i don't live in highsec.  As if that would make your opinion any less wrong.

It's really nice to see ccp patting themselves on the back over their successful bounty system. They really deserve credit for a wonderful feature that affects so many areas of the game...

Perhaps now I could follow someone around and kill him again and again and again and say that I'm collecting bounties...

Remember that whenever you have a bad day in EVE, the correct reponse is "Thank you CCP, may I please have another?"

Thanks Mag's. As usual, your post cuts right to the point. Any ideas about the more unusual scenarios I posited?

I would be honored if you guys would add more to my bounty. Most of it is tips from my clients.

See Bio for isk doubling rules. If you didn't read bio, chances are you funded those who did.

I can see where having a recently bought character that had a bounty on their head would be an issue. Thing is, that is something you certainly should have known about before purchase.

Make an alt, and just look up that character. It should show right up front that they have a bounty on their head.

Unless the case was, that immediately before transferring it you, they stuck a huge bounty on his head, in which case, well, that's pretty funny.

"Verily, I have often laughed at the weaklings who thought themselves good because they had no claws."

One of ours, ten of theirs.

Best Meltdown Ever.

Try putting 1.2B on a JF and see how he cries.

They said they we're going to make it, so you can't place bounty on inactive characters. But if the character goes inactive then basically every two hours or so, the bounty office will return/reimburse players with any bounty amount they set against an inactive character.
At the moment, a character must be on an account that has been inactive for 5 months.

I guess if the character that placed the bounty doesn't exist any more, then it just gets removed. I haven't seen any posts that cover that particular scenario, sorry.

I know JF pilots with 4billion ISK bounties on them. It doesn't seem to have affected their ability to get things done. In fact, we can all thank those people who were placing 100k isk bounties on everyone. Since everyone is flagged, almost no one actually CHECKS the bounties.
