Because CCP isn´t able to fix a complete game breaking mechanic (and won´t do it) I would have the idea that we need a special standing "off grid booster" for a character and not wasting this "set to red" any more.
Let us face it: OGB is a complete uber game breaking mechanic making whole weapon systems completely useless and probably resposible for 50% of all cases when people stopped to play this game.
So if CCP isn´t able to fix it give us a tool to MARK them to simply deny fights in that system.
I am really tired adking myself always "okay is the guy boosted and will he make my drones and missiles useless by outrunning them".
Simply give us a new color for ogb idiots in standings.

Btw: What do you want to tell a new customer? Well first you need to train your character 12months, then you need 24bil isk (18 for buysing a off grid booster toon and 6b for ships) and then you can start pvp^^

Cry

Unless you're an emo, less on the theatrics and more on the content. CCP have been talking about doing something about OGB for some time and have stated they intend to do something about it. I haven't read anything that says otherwise.

Yes, 50% of people who've quit eve did it because of off grid boosters. /sarcasm

95% of people who post idiotic things on the forums are idiots. My estimated percentage is, I can guarantee you, more accurate than yours.

/facepalm

No, I'd tell new players that they should ignore all the whiners who exaggerate the problems with the game, join a corp of people who will actually help you out and don't fly anything you can't afford. Telling people that they need to train for 12 months before they can pvp is just plain lies as is needing 24billion isk. I've only ever used an OGB for nullsec mining ops. You seriously exaggerate.

The fact that they said they are finding a fix for off grid boosting and that it's a priority isn't enough for you?

Oh, you want it NOW now. I see.

Damn iGeneration.

If you're driven to threaten others with harm or violence because of what they do in game, you can't separate fantasy from reality. That "griefer/thief" is probably more sane than you are. How screwed up is that?

Tchulen is an offensive idiot so no answer.

BUT: CCP tells us to fix ogb since... well maybe for 2 or 3 years now. What did they do?
NOTHING.
Because they won´t do anything.
I am really tired to get scrammed at 17km or "is there a fleet with ogb so I can undock".
That is stupid.

I believe it was in the winter 2012 CSM minutes CCP Fozzie said another dev (I can't remember his name) ran up to him and said "I found the fix for OGB" but they have been having problems with the legacy code.
Is short, be patient and wait till they can implement it without destroying the entire game.

If you don't follow the rules, neither will I.

Did you know that 75% of all statistics are made up on the spot?

Back to the OP though, you have 5 colors to choose from, Red, Orange, White, Light Blue and Blue. Pick your poison. You can also set notes under their names when you set their standings (OGB for instance).

EDIT: For the people who are complaining about how effective OGBs are, why not just simply take the shorter path and nerf the amount boosters boost for so its not such a huge difference between unboosted and boosted ships?

Lowering the average to make you look better since 2012.

Confirming OP is a whiny, self-entitled, very female dog. Also a complete moron.

CCP Fozzie has said more than once now that he wants to fix off-grid boosting, and has said more than once that the fix will require letting CCP Veritas' team finish refactoring the code so that when on-grid boosting is turned on, the servers don't melt under the strain.

You, however, seem to fancy yourself to be some special pretty princess who is entitled to everything she wants right now.

LOL, what a joke. HTFU and deal with the fact that technical limitations exist and they take time to fix.

Or maybe you'd like to volunteeer to travel to Iceland and help CCP Veritas et al refactor the code for free, so you can get your on-grid boosting sooner?

One quick and easy solution* to somewhat solving the situations where ganglinks most break PVP where they weren't really intended to be used would be to make it so that the NOS module also gives you the ability to temporarily inherit any leadership boost the character your using it on are currently receiving (subject to being able to "leech" them from a greater range than the cap leeching range).

Does tho mean that ships without a utility high are less useful for casual PVP, but does mean that more casual PVPers who are somewhat on the ball have a chance to level the playing field.

* Relatively speaking as the coding side of it won't be as simple as the concept but considerably easier than some of the other solutions.

Confirming you are an uneducated 12y old uber idiot.
And don´t tell me anything about technical limitations^^
Why not a simple quick fix with nerfing it until it is done? Or simple MARK people who get ogb benefits. It would be a simple quick fix.
Concerning colours: My corp already uses colours for standings for several purposes and tbh there aren´t enough.
I know MANY people who haven´t logged for months now because they wait until ogb gets fixed.

A lot of people use ganglinks, quite validly, outside of the areas where they really break casual gameplay and where the current useage is due to the limitations in place with regards to the suitability of the ships and so on. Its one thing I notice a lot reading threads on the subject - the vast majority of people don't comprehend the use of links outside of a very narrow scope that they are used to (even if they are very much broken within that scope).
