How to fix Local for AFK cloakers

I would like to propose a solution to the problem of people in my system when I'm cloaked and afk. I find it disconcerting that there are people able to see that I'm in the system when I'm cloaked and afk. I mean, I'm cloaked. They shouldn't be able to see me but they can with the local channel. I can't go afk because I can't stop thinking about them looking at me. THEY'RE ALWAYS LOOKING AT ME! It makes me feel strange, like when that man in the park wearing a raincoat on a sunny day looks at me and rubs his legs whilst grinning in a really creepy way. At least I hope he rubbing his legs. He might be rubbing something else. He's too far away for me to see properly but he's got binoculars. Anyway, I digress.

So what I propose is a module that can only be put onto ships with cloaks and only activated when you go afk which closes local in the client of everyone in system until I get back to my computer and become active again.

So, what do you guys think? Is this something that would help me, do you think? I couldn't give a crap about the game as a whole, by the way. I just want it changed so it suits me. Screw everyone else.

One flaw.

You activate it and everyone's local closes, right?

Wouldn't that let everyone know there's an AFK cloaky camper in the system?

Or maybe it's not a flaw as I think it would elevate the paranoia and anxiety since everyone will know there's an AFK Cloaky Camper in the system but they don't know who. Worse yet - they can't complain and whine to each other about it.

Gate campers are just Carebears with anger issues.

I support this.

I feel the same pain, sometime I go AFK cloacked to handle some real life chore and I'm nervous and cannot focus on my real life thinking to all those people in my local watching at me.
Could also be a module forcing everyone else to log off when I go afk.

Of course to use it Astronometric V should be required, or it could be OP.

Or how about if we add a "find afk cloaky persons from system module" to the game and you would need to actualy play the game instead of being an idiot afk noob. Bear

Stop trying to derail my personal desire thread. This isn't about your problems, it's about mine. I don't care what your opinions are. Nothing you can say will sway me from my course. I am immobile in my views and incapable of seeing reason. Sensei says "bend like the willow and you will never break". I say balls to that. Like an oak, I am. I bend for no man as I have no sense of anything but myself.

(ps. if you haven't already guessed, I'm taking the Mick)

I'm not overly surprised. Blink

You could ask Sura Sadiva for an explanation. She got it.

How about we add an eject afks from pos/outposts button.

Since you are cloaked, it should change your status to 'offline' as well. That would really be helpful too!! ;)

This should really be locked for trolling and to save Tchulen from himself...clearly all the looks have expedited the on-set of the "AFK Cloakers Space Madness" we've heard so much about over the years...can someone in the Interstellar Services Doctorate help this man?

Blink Nice post though Tchulen.

Yeah, yeah. Ok, enough is enough. I'm reporting myself for goofing around.

I just wanted people to see how ludicrous this argument is by turning it on it's head. Better than ranting about it Lol

Oh I wasn't being serious...just adding to the quality that this thread was. Made my day reading that. At first I was all "WTF Tchulen!!!" and then it was "ROFLMAO!".

You do have a point though. It's not a constructive thread. Mind you, it appears it's difficult to get your own threads locked. I wonder how long it'll take. P

This thread is better solely by quality of the "whine" than all those "nerf afk cloak" threads.
I think, just maybe, you put more thought into your OP than any OP in the other threads I've seen so far.

I propose a new cloaking module that make's anyone's wallet boosting transactions in the system go to me instead of them. This seems balanced amirite?

I like the cut of your jib!

Clever way of turning the issue back on the PVE types.

Ray...may I call you Ray?

I believe the OP is being just a teensie bit sarcastic here. His goal: point out the absurdity of the PvE pilots who complain about AFK cloakers by making an absurd proposal of his own.

I hope that does not get this thread locked because while he is being facetious, it is bringing up a valid point. Proposing an absurd suggestion is still absurd and the AFK cloak threads are never closed for being absurd.....

I noted the sarcasm immediately. I was simply going along for the ride.

You have to agree, though, my logic was sound. :)

Really, the only REAL problem with AFK Cloaking is with the paranoiacs who overreact.

I dunno... I think we may want to look at this from another direction.

Put a flush button on Outposts, and POS's.

Each time a ship races to these, they get a flag for 15 minutes allowing any pilot in space to eject them back into space nearby.

Keeps abuse of local down as an intel source, by removing any possible response that killed PvP participation.

Run, fight, even cloak, but no hiding in safe areas!
