What are people running for lvl2's ship wise now as minmatar race?

I found my thrasher was all good to a point, I then find that the mission of mercy stuff was a little heated :D boom boom if not careful, trying to take out one of the main ships to remote complete the mission was bad luck on my part each one I killed was the wrong one heheh so anyway...

Is it worth fitting a rupture with 720' arty's on it for just that mission alone, then go back to a destroyer or can someone shed some light on what would fit the build for lvl2's all missions. :)

Im not getting much joy in the thrasher even with AB or MWD as a speed tank, the skills on this toon right now are tiny to say the least but ideas welcome.. I have been to Battleclinic but the lvl 2 ship setups for minmatar seem really slow coming of late.

It's hard to screw up a cruiser fit for level 2s, short of fitting mixed guns or trying to hull tank it or something. You can try an arty fit and see how you like it, but there will be enough cases where stuff gets in close that you probably can't snipe your way through every mission you will have. So I'd stick with a basic AC fit with a prop mod to let you dictate range and speed to the occasional distant gate or can.

Check out wiki.eveuniversity.org for the cookie cutter PvE low skill fits for the Minmatar ships. The Rupture is the obvious choice and easier to fit and fly than the Stabber with low skills. Those should get you pointed in the right direction, and you can iterate from there as you gain skills and want to try something different.

EvE is supposed to suck.  Wait . . . what was the question?

Dessy is just a minor upgrade to the frig when we talk about pve missioning, so lvl1= frig/dessy L2=cruiser L3=BC L4=BS is the normal take on the missions, you can ofc take L2's in a dessy and L3's in a cruiser but it will require you to have good skills to compensate for the harder ones.

Ok thanks guys, appreciated.. I was just concerned that I should be able to use dessie to to lvl 2's all through, I just had this niggly feeling that with my other races I had trained up I had a much easier time than being minmatar in the early mission running.. Maybe I am just forgetful for not of been playing in a short while. :D

Im guessing then the mission of mercy mission, ( sounded odd that lol ) is just one of them pita ones where it gets aggressive when close range, I never remember that mission to be that hard to be honest or if I have done that one in the past it never as far as I recall caused so much annoyance..

I was hoping to put lots of speed and resists or extenders and just kill the one ship needed to advance and get out of dodge sort of speak.. but the alpha hits from them all are pretty nasty :O

I will focus on the rupture build/s and say goodbye to troubles then .. thanks

Ran L2s in a Wolf back in the day. Skipped cruisers altogether.

The stabber is better imo. Its faster and that sweet buffed fallof bonus will go a long way. Rupture packs more punch but honestly, dps is kinda secondary in lvl2s. U will complete missions faster because u are faster to your targets and can shoot them from a distance even if AC fit

Darn all these ideas :D

sling me some fits if you can on stab then, trouble is I have to see what might be more viable to use earlier so I can crack on with them.. I swear still though that its just mainly that mission I mentioned that is more an issue than what I was flying initially doing the lvl 2's

Rupture is the way to go. It's an excellent ship with a lot more tank than a Stabber.

I had a passive shield tank on my Rupture with an Arty fit. Course this was before all the ship changes but I think that fit is still viable.

EDIT :
This is close to what I had fitted. I also have implants that increase Shield HP's and decrease Shield Recharge and Powergrid need of shield mods. You can use this as a guide, more or less starting with T1 mods. Missile and Drones were used on NPC's that got too close for Arty's.

Rupture fit

High slot :
4x 650mm Artillery Cannon II
1x Rapid Light Missile Launcher II

Medium slot :
2x Large Shield Extender II
1x 10MN Afterburner II
1x Adaptive Invulnerability Field II

Low slot :
2x Shield Power Relay II
2x Tracking Enhancer II
1x Power Diagnostic System II

Rig slots :
2x Medium Core Defense Field Purger II
1x Medium Anti EM Screen Reinforcer II

Drone :
1x Medium Combat Drone
4x Light Combat Drone

Yup thats a fair bit of shield tank for lvl2's lol :D

thanks again all, I will be using all info to do trial and error with my skills at the level they are in next day or so. still got few things to get up to speed but its looking its best to try aim for t2 fit generally on the rupture. Not sure on the Stab might be worth a shot at fitting one also to see how it plays out Vs Rupture so I can see how both operate/feel wise.

Will fit a Rupture with T1/T2 as best I can at this time and see how it holds up in the more annoying missions that alpha strike you.

Time to spend some money I guess :D
