Scanning equipment slot change

I propose that the slot tier limitation on scanning equipement be dropped, and instead items such as the Relic Analyzer, Cargo Scanner and others should be fittable to both high and medium slots. I believe that this small change will open up new possibilities for ship fittings when it comes to exploration activities such as hacking a data site.

Thoughts?

i agree. Data/relic analyzers should be high slot items as they are basically your tools of trade (same as weapons for combat ships). Also current scanning upgrade modules should be made active and new passive less powerful low-slot modules introduced to make things fair for gallente/amarr scanning ships.

Opinions are like assholes. Everybody got one and everyone thinks everyone else's stinks.

Changing it to straight-up high slot would warrant a change to Covert Ops slot layout - the Helios only has two high slots, whereas an exploration setup would require a cloak, a probe launcher, and one of each Analyzer, something no covert ops ship is capable of fitting.

Dropping the slot requirement sounds interesting, but it would set a new precedent as no module currently works that way. I also don't believe that this would open as many fitting possibilities as you seem to think, as it would only really affect the Tengu and Loki when it comes to shield-tanking WH data/relic sites.
