Question / Help with a form that pops up while undocking

Hello,
I was wondering if someone can point me in the right direction here. Basically, every time I undock I have a form that pops up which doesn’t have any information, it just says “selected item” in the title bar and “No Object Selected” in the body. I have looked into all of the settings and things that I can find and I have even done a complete uninstall and reinstall of a new client just to rule that out. I recently bought a second account and have found that I do not find this with my other account, so I just can’t figure out what this form is, or how to disable it.

Here is a screenshot of what it looks like when I undock LINK As you can see, this is the big form in front of me with no information. I simply minimize it and it does not come back until the next time I undock. There is no option on it to close it out either.

I don’t say it wasn’t something I did at one time or another, I just wish I knew what it was I did and how I can undo it, or if it wasn’t something I did, how do I remove it?

If you select anything that window sill show you what you have selectecd and some actions (approach, warp to, dock/jump, look at, etc).

You can't get rid of the window, but you resize it to be smaller. Likely you once made it this big by snapping into another window.

I do not believe that is a correct statement unless I am misunderstanding? because I have asked around and other people tell me they do not see this when undocking. Plus on my second account (as I mentioned) when I undock, I see nothing, not even a small form as you mentioned

You've somehow unknowingly expanded the window in your HUD that shows you what you've got targeted at the moment. It normally sits up on top of your Overview panel, and it can be reset by either manually shrinking it, or (IIRC), going into the 'Esc' menu and finding the 'Reset Window Positions' option.

Look at the top right of that second account....same window.

As said, you likely by accident made the screen big and centered on you window.
It is a screen that you ALWAYS have.

Ya, you know what? After looking at both screenshots I just found that out myself, well heck, if I only compared it before I wrote this post I would have saved myself some embarrassment. I looked at my second screenshot right after posting it and I saw that form at the top right with the same verbiage, so I apologize and stand corrected, I didn’t see it up there, or recognized it if so.

I put it back on my main account, and when I click an object (such as a gate), sure enough, it gives me all sorts of fancy little icons and options, I guess I was doing fine without it. And I always minimized it when I left the station so I never saw what it did.

Now since I have been playing for over a year without it, It would be nice to get rid of it since it just clogs up things. But as you mentioned, it’s there for good right? (Unless I close it out each time like I been doing)

It's there for good, yeah. I wouldn't recommend closing it out, because it gives you shortcuts to various useful functions (like orbiting/approaching a target, locking weapons or mining lasers, and things).

It also shows you what you're currently looking at if you've got more than one target up.

Yeah it's great for getting to buttons like orbit, approach, jump, dock, etc

But since Odyssey came out you can now use the radial menu fro that stuff :D
