Eve : Third Time's a Charm?

Well, this is my third attempt to immerse myself in Eve. The game calls to me, the setting, the sandbox nature ... but for some reason I always drifted off after a month or two of play.

This time around, I'm setting myself up for the short term (ie first few months) as a mission runner/explorer ....

While I concede that's a large investment in skill training ... are the two "career"s complimentary?

they used to be, but less so this time, although they hardly require tons of SP.. just some actual going out there and doing :P and asking around for tips and tricks..
honestly though, not many people will tolerate the solo experience in EVE, because its very ronery... so go out there and try to get yourself a corporation to have some fun with! Like mine: Brave Newbies (BNI)

Yeah, I don't plan on being Solo forever ... it's more a choice of playing time vs brand new account (ie low SP)

I'll keep your corp in mind though considering the name of it ;)

dont wait to join a corp due to lack of experiance, shared expeiance helps just as much as experiancing it yourself and you will learn much faster with a group. as for the above posters corporation they are an exelent example of the power of the newbie, the owner kind of accidently created one of the largest organizations in eve in a mater of days while he was still very much a newbie himself.

Try out both and see which one you can do for the longest. Then do it. :)

That said my advice is to try out everything in EVE and see what you enjoy doing the most. There are many things to do... incursions, faction warfare, pirating, trading, manufacturing, exploring, mining, or just try and scam some dumbass out of ISK in local.

Maturity, one discovers, has everything to do with the acceptance of not knowing. http://www.di.fm/spacemusic

NightCrawler 85 made a great guide about what to look for when looking for a corp. I think she will stop by soon with the link.

Here is the guide as my corp mommy is clearly too busy with other stuff.

This. Find what you enjoy and do more of it.

Thanks for all the replies ... think I'll stay away from mining/industry this time, at least for now ... stick to missions, ratting, exploring and start dipping my toes into PvP (ie getting my butt handed to me)
