It sucked not being able to get into the game, I probably missed a skill switch or two, but I am truly impressed with the way CCP not only worked to fix the issue but to also keep players in the loop.

HAH! Correction - I have days left to train on two and am going to squeak by on the third with 23 minutes.

Thanks to CCP staff, developers, admins, technical experts and consultants for giving up your weekend to take care of this issue. It can't be said enough how much we as players appreciate your hard work and contributions, especially in a time as stressful as a prelaunch phase for your upcoming expansion.

Myself and others salute you for your hard work for the past 24 hours, and for your upcoming efforts in launching Odyssey. You have our respect and admiration, and you deserve a kick*** vacation.

Thanks again for making space a little safer for your grateful audience.

2 DDOS attacks in 6 months, i guess someone is a little pissed at CCP for not compensating them for their ship loss through the petition system.... before you send the standard excuse "our logs show nothing" you might want to think about the ramifications of sending out a bland corperate response.

for the record i gave up on petitions along time ago as its a total waste of time....

in other news.... thanks for the working the weekend, i had to that myself in the past so i know how rough it can be....

at least World of Tanks doesnt crash yet.... :-)

They say he who has most to gain is most likely the one responsible. You (CCP) recently kindly gave out free SP for a minor delay in service. This set a precedent. I would look to those requesting more free SP as having orchestrated this to gain a commodity otherwise impossible to acquire. Time.
If you look, those persons of interest are the population of EVE Online. It may also be someone who is trying to frame said persons of interest not from within that group; namely, people who are not the population of EVE Online.
I am glad you won our server back in either case. Thank you for bringing the single most corrupt economy in the known universe back to its inmates.
PS may I have my free SP for my anonymous tip as to who is responsible please? send to The Kopt anonymously.
Also another SP reward for my down-time.
Thank You.

It is with a heavy heart that we mourn the passing of your brave coffee-maker. I think we all desire justice, a fiery righteous justice be done in it's name upon the horrid perpetrators of this vile act. In other words, thanks for doing what you do Ladies and Gentlemen of CCP. Please stay classy and may your next few weekends be extra-joyous to compensate you for this missed "fun-time"

I really hope your post isn't suggesting that CCP should somehow bow to the demands of people who claim they lost a ship.

Most likely it was one of the many mentally constipated children who wish they were educated enough to call themselves a hacker, who used someone's botnet and don't even really understand what they were doing, that committed the attack. I think, to be honest, these types of attacks are rather pathetic, although obviously destructive. Now days it doesn't take much because someone has made available a program that can wreak havoc with very little effort.

There are even botnets for sale

I don't understand why people insist on blaming CCP, or suggesting it was something that CCP did to upset someone. Most likely this is exactly what the perpetrators of this DDoS attack did this for, so that you, and all others upset with CCP for not being able to pilot their toon became angry with CCP, or thought that CCP should change their SOP to compensate someone a ship.

This isn't hacking by the way, this is terrorism. Hacking is pulling a prank, or at least that's what it originally meant. For me it meant being able to figure out how to use a computer system during a period of time when there did not exist books on the subject. We gained access to systems then explored and learned about them, we didn't destroy them, or harm them in any way. The children now days who claim to be hackers are no more than terrorists attempting to force other people to conform to their idea of how things should be by committing these electronic forms of terrorist attacks.

Place the blame where it should be placed, and stop trying to reason that this could somehow be CCPs fault, because it isn't.
