why would you do daily downtime ~50 minutes after you just go the server up?
Several downtime jobs are essential in a 24 hour cycle so downtime would need to happen any time the server would come up before 11:00 UTC.

so that means that TQ wont be going down before the normal DT tomorrow for releasing Odyssey?

Also, since my thread was locked, who was it, that shutdown the eve server? I want to know who to place a bounty on.

Honestly, I don't think we need compensation. The downtime was not CCPs fault so why do people feel like CCP owe them something because someone decided to DDoS attack the server?

People need to get over their self-entitlement mentality and just get back in the game. Arrow

This
At most, add the gametime lost onto accounts active just before the DDOS (should catch any accounts that went offline yesterday because of not being able to extend them with the web services being offline)
And perhaps give some SP to accounts whose training ended while the servers were offline as well
Not compensation but ensuring noone has lost out on much

As others have mentioned, I commend your team for professionally solving the issue at hand. I appreciate the time that your staff took off from their own days off to work and ensure the security and stability of your infrastructure.

2 of my account (not this one) lost time on SP due to the outage...

Something would be nice :)

You... you what?

You stayed up all night for us. You gave up your weekend for us. You updated twitter every 3 hours for us. Your coffee pot valiantly died in the line of duty for us.

You don't need to apologize to us; You need a nap, a raise, and a new coffee pot.

Thanks for the hard work.

Could I recommend delaying odyssey. This current outage will really mess quite a few people up with regards to the new SP changes incoming with the odyssey expansion. I don't think people would mind waiting another day or two until everything has settled down.

Also great work CCP, thanks for all the effort in trying to get this fixed.

(EDIT) Also would give you guys a break before the next major server disaster. ;)

Being in technology in real life I just need to say good work under the circumstances (the issue could have been worse and/or handled badly).

This will be a long week for you guys with Odyssey launching and I know that you guys will do great.

Start the day off slow and taper off from there.

we need to be patient and let ccp do their job. Downtime is crucial for us (players). Lose 12h sp is not the end of the world. I am working right now and I'll be at home at the end of the day. So i will lose 12hours SP, but no worry, is not ccp fault.

Thank you CCP for your effort and +1 for Anti-Cyberterrorism CCP Team!

After all the time being down why do we have to suffer the Scheduled DT?

Can we give extra kudos to all the tanty pants who seem to think that because they pay for something, nothing goes waornggg

wrooaung

wrong.

They should pay for a subscription to their lives, since it appears that it's only the stuff they pay for that isn't what they want and goes wrong and it's everyone else's fault..
