I wonder if the DDOS was to put in some kind of man in the middle attack in order to compromise the launcher by redirecting authentications into a different server in order to grab passwords?

Weird that the launcher showed up in russian, I had a weird feeling about that. hopefully that is not the case.

I went outside and the graphics weren't very good.

You need the upgrade "Fix Cataracts v1.1a" installing

I did.

Now the Real life launcher stopped working.

No, "this one place" meaning online, on the internet, on a computer where these types of things shouldn't matter.

I assumed, and obviously incorrectly, that you must not be from a native English speaking nation because of the way you write, perhaps if you tried a little bit harder to make sense, you might seem more British. But then again, maybe your writing style, how you prefer to be perceived, is as a douche!

Things slowly getting back together, awesome. Got to be a stressful time in the CCP offices, doubly so with the new expeansion rollout.

Seriously though CCP, please, no SP "compensation". Remember your roots. Sure, roll out +1 day on subs if need be (It's only $.50USD, no biggy if you don't).

This one wasn't CCPs fault, there's no need to apologize, and if you aren't tagging a 10+ day skill at the end of your training queue, it's yer own damn fault.

Remember the six P's, kids. Prior Planning Prevents **** Poor Performance. Applies to yo skillqueue too.

Remember that the Downtime is almost the whole 24h now. If you had a skill ending around DDoS and DT you were screwed either way.

I for one am glad to have Astrometrics V training that ends on 8 June :P

Escapist Magazine is reachable and League of Legends logged in fine for me. That story doesn't seem like it's true.

It's Monday Morning 04:47am my time. Server Went Down Sunday at around 09:00am. Though while I understand why the Game Server went down, why the hell would forums have to be down all day and all night long yesterday. Time to put this on a completely different server then the game servers so we can be informed of your progress. Launched the Client from the Bin EXE and it says Server Tranq, Status Checking Status 0 players.

Can we get an ETA please.

Thanks.

See this is what happens when you try to fix things that were not broken in the first place. Seems like all this happened once Logging in went to the Launcher VS the Client.

After all this time, still no eta only shows what CCP really thinks about its customers.

Why oh Why do people whinge so much when the servers are down, GET A LIFE. They are doing their best and are probably thinking of their customers account details being safe more than the revenue lost (well lets hope that their way of thinking)Lol

well good work to you all ccp alts working hard on posting praising messages to yourselves in forums and twitter/facebook. If you dont want to be refunded for your lost time, its your choice. Yesterday was a weekend day i intended to spend by playing some eve. When i want to "get outside", "enjoy my RL", i do not pay for this game. Yes those CCP programmers supposedly worked yesterday too ( altough i have some doubts since they claim they took down their servers on purpose after discovering the DDoS, however there was no usual warning in game "put your pilot to safety etc" ), BUT THEY ARE PAID FOR THAT. BY US. So stop k***ing a*s and do not pretend you are real paying players. You are pathetic.

I couldn't agree more. They seem to have worked harder on posting those messages than actually fixing the servers.

I am sorry but you are as ignorant as you are stupid for that comment.

It's days like today that remind me how much love I have for this game. People live and breathe EVE. If you're going to succeed in this universe then EVE literally becomes a part of you. Oh sure I get frustrated with changes and complain from time to time like everyone else, but when this thing that has become such a part of our abstract reality is physically threatened - I was genuinely worried for the ole' gurl. I followed every tweet and server twitch with all the angst of an expectant father. Thanks to all the CCP employees who worked to ensure that our gaming experience will continue safely and securely. It could have been worse.

No one should be asking for free sp. You don't reward terrorism with cookies. But I wouldn't be upset to learn that the Odyssey release is being delayed for however many hours the servers were down. Many folks (myself included) were on timetables to complete goals just prior to the launch. I also think locking every post discussing this historical event in GD is bad PR. This was a universal experience. There will be hundreds of those topics. Probably should relax the rules for a day and let people post-disaster vent/complain/beg/compliment as needed.

Glad to be back.

Good work CCP.

Hacker group LulzSec, the same group that's attacked Sony and Nintendo in the past, has tweeted that it's committed three distributed denial of service attacks against gaming companies today, bringing down EVE Online's Tranquility server, Minecraft's multiplayer services, and the Escapist Magazine's website. EVE Online's CCP has confirmed both the outage and the attack, the Escapist is unreachable at the moment, and Minecraft creator Notch says that things were down, but supposedly service has been restored.

LulzSec hasn't shared a reason for the attacks just yet, but we can only guess it's, as they say, "for teh lulz."

Update: The group has gone after Riot Games' League of Legends servers as well. Attempting to log in to the game gives a "server busy" message, though there's no official word from the company yet.

CCP, please tell us you're prosecuting the little zits.
