On Mac from Europe everything is working perfectly as always.

I'm a diplomat. Sometimes i throw 425mm wide briefcases at enemy. Such is EVE.

Yeah that'd be great, Mr CCP Falcon or other Dev guy. I already logged in to the game and the forums with my log in, on the Russian displayed forms. I plan on changing passwords as soon as this stuff is resolved just in case...but it would give me peace of mind until that point if you can confirm that the launcher and EVE|Gate log in forms were not compromised.

This is literally the most misguided series of posts I have ever read.

It's not stupid to change your password when a server encounters unexpected problems, as it is entirely possible that the password database may have been compromised. Personally, I didn't jump to that conclusion, but there is no shame in being prepared.

It's very stupid to assume that a local configuration issue is the result of evil hacker foreigners trying to steal your passwords.

Is it a local configuration issue? I've tried all the fixes and they didn't work. Socket error after choosing my char. There is nothing I haven't done except reinstalling the entire EVE client software.

I'm going to posit that the launcher Russian language issue relates to some preference cache on the back end that's gone a bit wonky, rather than anything nefarious. After all, it's one of the valid choices... it just seems fixated on that choice tonight. Smile

Perhaps OpenDNS is protecting me from something bad.
Why isn't CPP posting to this channel?

The C preprocessor isn't Turing complete (in either sense), so is unlikely to answer your questions.

CCP on the other hand are likely either desperately working on a fix, or crashing after being up all night.

Makes sense.
I don't get why you're so mad that I'm curious if there is any possibility that log in data was compromised. I'm from the USA. We don't typically see **** in Russian around here. You don't need to change your password...but I'm not gonna take a chance.

1. I scanned for virus's. - Nil Found
2. I restarted the computer. - Made no difference.
3. I used the EvE repair tool several times, failed the first time, successful the 2nd. - Made no difference.
4. Tried to clear the cache. Restart launcher, Made it WORSE! Account names not showing. (oh yeah, I just cleared the cache didn't I)
5. Logged into forums, displaying Russian. Successful able to post...
6. Logged into game ( launcher still displaying Russian) successful...

My hat his off to you sir. Do you frequent Slashdot? Indeed I meant to say CCP. My comment preprocessor may have mangled my meaning :)
I'm still bothered about my inability to log in. I'm going to reboot now.

CCP have enough issues with the Launcher without the extra hassle caused by some folk.

That is absurd! This is clearly the result of North Korean hackers who want to blame the Russians. The Glorious Leader got podded while flying through Russian Null-Space.
