argh, this is annoying. None of the given options that have been provided work for me to get into the game. I

The window that you are getting in the launcher is not blank, if you select it, it says

"Error -7 when loading url https://login.eveonline.com/oauth/authorize/?client_id=eveLauncherTQ&lang=en&response_type=token&redirect_uri=https://login.eveonline.com/launcher?client_id=eveLauncherTQ&scope=eveClientToken"

They should probably implement a way to return from this instead of having to re-launch the launcher.

There are 25 pages, sorry if someone already said that.

But the ExeFile.exe, I can launch that and get all the way to selecting my character, then it says "The socket was closed", twice. No matter what I do, clearing the dns, running in compatibility mode, I can't get into the game.

Very frustrating.

Funny as I type this, I finally got in.

If anyone is having issues getting the login FIELDS to show up in the launcher...

Clear the Cache

Worked for my wife..

Edit: under the Cache Tab, not the EvE client settings tab

Hah, so I got my friend who has a PS3 to download DUST 514 (took all day) and said we were going to play it tonight when I come over so I can try it out. So when I came over to his place, Tranquility just so happens to have an unexpected downtime. COINCIDENCE? NO, I DON'T BELIEVE IN COINCIDENCE.

edit: now I am gone, friend texted me and said it's working fine. hrmmmm

Reboot worked for me too where 10 runs of exefile didn't.

Maybe it was simply refreshing the DNS cache, maybe it was some weird persistent socket/routing problem that can't possibly exist? The answer isn't simple or else there wouldn't be so much coffee involved.

Either way, it's worked for several people now.

can CCP please advise us that the launcher is still under their control ?????

or has it been hijacked for some mass account stealing episode ?????

This happens just before the release of an expansion.. I have taken a week off just to spend it in EVE and I seem to not even get the chance...

Edit: Holy crap... first times I tried some of the launcer was ... in some language other then english, and now its all in.. russian??

I've got the same problem as "Gon Orrhea" (sorry for your unfortunate name buddy).
Get to char launching then socket error.
This is so irritating! CPP will suffer from this screwup in the form of lost revenue and increased support costs.

Yeah that'd be great, Mr CCP Falcon or other Dev guy. I already logged in to the game and the forums with my log in, on the Russian displayed forms. I plan on changing passwords as soon as this stuff is resolved just in case...but it would give me peace of mind until that point if you can confirm that the launcher and EVE|Gate log in forms were not compromised.

Not a CCP screwup as far I can tell. I work with a ton of difference servers all over the world and the routing is being screwed up for half of them. Seems that one of the bigger network companies has broken something.

I've finally got online. with the launcher being in Russian after i put my password in, i switched to another language and switched back to English and it came up in English, and it logged me in to the launcher, then kept hitting play and after about the 7 time it loaded fine.

I was experiencing the closed socket issue and clearing the DNS cache worked for me. I'm using Windows 8 and doing an "ipconfig /flushdns" in an administrator command prompt took care of everything. Thanks!

Actually, you doing what you are suggesting everybody do does NOT help the situation. CCP needs feedback from various people all over the world to ensure the connection is reaching them, along with some witty comments, this is exactly what the players are doing. It's important to express problems ith the connection as it's being fixed so they have conformation it is fixed...walking away from the computer for a while nullifies any attempt at obtaining that conformation.

Sooo...keep up the angst guys!!!

Just did a Trace Route, Over 30 hops from England and around Europe. Expected from a Routing issue.
