BOTH the Launcher and the Website showing in a NON-ENGLISH language...

I SMELL A DIRTY HACKER... or horribly inept coding... someones getting 10 lashes!

EITHER WAY, this FAIL half-arse launcher needs to go!

Id be more supporting if it WORKED more often then NOT, but... theres more NOT then working :/, not to mention the other half of the half-arsing is that you still have to login to select your character! If it was like the launcher for League of Legend's where you logged in with your account, THEN selected your CHARACTER then LOADED INTO the game, id be impressed... as it is right now... HALF-ARSED!

It dawned on me; Could you guys think of a better plan than to make Planetary Interactions include underground installations? It would be sweet to have players in DUST get to play in research facilities made on a planet that was invaded in a hostile takeover.

You could have an ice miner building pretty sweet underground places while he was mining an asteroid... ...and it would let people stack the installation structures right on top of a resource. If you're going to make a hole, why not fill it with storage space and a lauchpad?

Hey! It's up now! Cool!

When this mess first started earlier today. Me and my friends. Did Tracert. Or trace route. Saw that it was breaking some where in the UK. When it comes to hops.

I am not sure a lot of people realise that one route to CCP was broken.
The shortest route between you and them. I would imagine they are having something rerouted or something jury rigged, with internet mechanics rigging level 5 and advance internet mechanics rigging level 5.

Hell I am still getting this in my tracert

7 31 ms 31 ms 31 ms verisign-gw.customer.alter.net [152.179.50.98]
8 35 ms 36 ms 35 ms 199.16.95.138
9 * * * Request timed out.
10 * * * Request timed out.
11 -----------> all the way down the hop line to CCP.

And i am on tranquility right now. I would imagine the work around involved, hops through the russian network?

I am no internet/networking guy. So yea..I dont have a clue how they're getting it to work. They just are.

Who knows.

Sit back, play a console, a facebook game, or something to take up some time. SP whiners... Petion your case to the overlords.

Launcher and other login screens are showing contextual information in Russian currently, I am in the united states so this should not be happening.Eve does run via exe.exe for those of you whom can i can not as i have windows 8 and this file just closes socket however has gotten most of my friends online. I am curious as to remaining time if known or estimated, as well as what we are recieving for our personal patience as customers of ccp.

Hello,

This is my first forum post. I am not a network expert but I have seen a few good posts
here that might help resolve the problem(s) root cause.

1. do a command line ' tracert client.eveonline.com'

2. ping the timeout route ip address.

This is part of what I got from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. ( did it several times over about 45 minutes):

Tracing route to client.eveonline.com [87.237.39.166]
over a maximum of 30 hops:

1
2 *** Personal route Info removed """
3
]
4 24 ms 27 ms 23 ms rc2wh-tge0-15-1-0.vc.shawcable.net [66.163.69.12
1]
5 54 ms 55 ms 57 ms xe-1-1-0.r1.bb-fo.sfo1.vrsn.net [198.32.176.30]

6 59 ms 203 ms 227 ms 199.16.95.146
7 * * * Request timed out.
8 * * * Request timed out.
9 * * * Request timed out.
10 * * * Request timed out.
11 * * * Request timed out.
12 * * * Request timed out.
13 * * * Request timed out.
14 * * ^C

C:\>ping 199.16.95.146

Pinging 199.16.95.146 with 32 bytes of data:

Request timed out.
Request timed out.
Request timed out.
Request timed out.

Ping statistics for 199.16.95.146:
Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 0, Lost = 4 (100% loss),

During this time I could not log in using the launcher. I could after several tries get in with the 'bin\EveFile.exe' method.

Then I tried the command line 'ipconfig /flushdns' suggested in another post.

I can now log in with the launcher. (I have tired it 3 times with success)

Please note that forum access and my login to the forums was is still 1. slow and 2. not sucessfull every time.

The root cause appears to involve the network around ip address 199.16.95.146 and possibly dns name resolution.

Hope this helps.

Ok time to get some feedback on the "Socket was closed" issue. Can now get to the game, but it drops my characters before bringing up the game. OS Win 8.

Just anything like "we know - working it - shutup for Chrissake." Anything would make happy :}

This is a debacle no other way to say it. Revert the launcher. I know you want your advertising forced on us but multiple days of problems is making something unpalatable simply unacceptable.

This is far from typical, Daverous.

I've been playing off-and-on for about three years, and this is the first time I've ever seen the website, the server and the launcher break simulataneously. Plus, it's been building for about two days.

CCP is on the task, and they're very good at making sure that this isn't the usual pattern of operation.

Edit: One major item that indicates this isn't the usual: in all the time I've played, the biggest thing to go wrong has been that the website is down for maintenance, or the forums are offline for Scheduled DT. I've never seen my browser totally unable to find the website.

I can't get rid of my darn signature!  Oh, wait....
