Has any PvP ever been called 'Corp vs. Corp' ?

During a discussion about Eve on another forum, one poster made some rather outrageous claims about how far he had got in Eve. Claims that make me think he has never played Eve, including him saying:
Quote:
Only like to do Corp vs. Corp, because the PvE side was so boring.

Has there ever been any PvP in Eve that players called Corp vs Corp, or should I just take this as another sign that he has never played Eve ?

Yeah... sounds like your "friend" there is referring to a war declaration. Never heard it called that though.

He must be "special."

Hes not down with the lingo. Hes bluffin you.

After the patch we're giving the market some gentle supply restriction, like tying one wrist to the bedpost loosely with soft silk rope. Just enough to make things a bit more exciting for the market, not enough to make a safeword necessary.  -Fozzie

The rest of his post gave away that he was making stuff up.

This bit just confirms that he has never played Eve.

linky linky

There's nothing worse than an EVE player, generally considered to be top of the food chain in the MMO world, that cannot smacktalk with wit and coherency.

This is what he meant to say.

I only played the game for like 2 weeks and quit, but because you asked about the game I want to look knowledgeable. Sadly I failed by saying Corp Vs. Corp like a nublet.

It's not in a public section of the forum, so the link won't help, and I like the place enough that I won't be copying anything out of the private sections.

if he played EVE on an RP corp, that's actually a "thing".

some Rp corps do wars with rules. saw an engagement at a gate once (this was 2009 i think), made me cringe due to all the ships in bad orbits, or with no speed at all!... but i got stuck watching it go for almost half an hour.

made me nostalgic, i kept thinking of all the things eve would be when i first started playing.

constant reshipping, no podding, weird makeshift doctrines, frigates in formations, 2 Amarr battleships wailing away at a lonely Gallente one, t1 logistics burning in to throw reps, and flying away from the hostile frigs while friendlies would chase them.

and then finally the hero Navy Mega broke the tank on one of the amarr abaddons, and all the amarrian frigs scrambled out with the remaining one... it was glorious!

i added that corp to my main's list of "corps to be in". currently hes having adventures in wormholes, when i get bored ill put on my wizard had and go RP on my Navy mega. :D

also a similar type of war was pretty common years ago, before highsec wars became about one superhero tengu with 5 offgrid boosts, and 2 disposable logi alts... or a bunch of bored people hoping to logindrop on some unsuspecting noobs.

people had wars with objectives like "500m in damage or 40 ship kills", and were fought for fun and bragging rights, not to attempt to corner a noob corp in a station and force them to disband. -.-'

He's never seemed like a roleplayer to me.
