Hello eve forum! This is my first topic after 1 year reading this forum.
I really can't make a decision of what to train next. One option is to go for thanatos carrier and focus on pve making some nice isk. I have alt account for cynos too. Then I will train t2 staff. Other option is to train t2 guns and some t2 ships first. I am perc/will remap now next remap is in 11 months. Here is my current skills: http://eveboard.com/pilot/Anakim_Zerg
If i go carrier I will make better isk than I make now.
If I go t2 large guns and missiles I can fly much easier pvp ships that are in SRP of my alliance and we use in pvp fleets. Until now I had to find meta 4 and that takes sometimes in 0.0. If I train for t2 missiles and guns this open some other options for pve too. Tengu or legion for 10/10s. Gila or ishtar for ratting.
What you think is the best to do?

If you go carrier you will lose it and be 2bil poorer than you are now.

I have scouts and intel to other systems. Losing carrier it is ok since I can afford it.

I was in your position a few months ago, and i decided to go the carrier route. I wont say I regretted it completely but I found it was more fun to go rat in other ships. While you make slightly less isk/hr you can still do pretty good with a Faction/Pirate BS or a T3.

If you go with the carrier you would have a way to move ships and stuff around semi safely the flip side if you use it to rat and are not paying really good attention its easy to get caught.

T2 guns would allow you to do more damage and have different fits and be more versatile in general. The down side is you are specializing and they are some semi long trains, not saying a carrier isnt.

My opinion would be go for the guns unless you really really want that carrier. Mine now is just a glorified hanger ornament collecting dust most of the time.

Unless you either move alot, and want a carrier to use as a giant suitcase, or are planning to use the carrier in PvP, which takes a lot of extra training, you are better off with T2 guns. Can perform nearly as well at PvE and is safer, and opens tons of PvP options.

Thanks I also think guns are the correct way to go. I could listen more opinions and I will finally make the second harder decision in my life (first was charmander or squirtle or bulbasaur).

Moving not an issue many friends from corp will help me with that and pvp as you said will take more skilling than pve. Thanks for the advice.

T2 Guns!

You will use them more often than you use the carrier.
They will also improve your ISK making, because you will kill rats faster.
They will improve your PvP because you will kill people faster.

A good Carrier takes many months to train for. You should have well fitted ships to fly before/during that time.

You're not very far away from T2 mediums. Remember, the support skills are just as important as the gun itself.

IMO: You could train some skills you already own, to a higher level.
The subsystem skills should be at IV's and V's.
Armor Comps
Gunnery supports
Advanced Weapon Upgrades !

One thing to add to the plus side of carrier training is not having to depend on friends (who may leave or have RL issues or lack of game time) but also avoiding scams/theft. The latter isn't a big issues if you live in a red/black frog-accessible area, though. The downside of being a carrier pilot is the sudden influx of demanding "friends."

T2 guns, otherwise, sounds like a good choice.
