How useful is the bomb deployment skill anyway?

I mean it's not like you're going to bomb the same target twice in 7,5 seconds.

The very sun of heaven seemed distorted when viewed through the polarising miasma welling out from this sea-soaked perversion, and twisted menace and suspense lurked leeringly in those crazily elusive angles of carven rock where a second glance shewed concavity after the first shewed convexity.

Depends, are you going to join bombing fleets?

If yes, then yes
If no, then no

Do you have an FC who wants a bombs to remove drones?

If yes, then yes
if no, then no

It's only viability lies in lvl 1 - you can use bombs + launcher and lvl 4 - you can use void bombs (nasty stuff) and lockbreaker bombs (not that great, but nice for saving friends)

And at 5 you can use a Bomb Launcher II to carry an extra bomb around if nothing else.

Bomb Launcher I has a base 160 second reactivation delay, and the T2 version base is 135 seconds.

The Bomb Deployment skill reduces this delay.

That's alright I guess....

Feels like it could have done something more useful.

For price of extra CPU needed, which is already scarce :(

Ooops, time to train that to 5 as I have completely missed the introduction of the T2 launcher.

I think that is kinda the point of the OP. Usually when bombing you drop the bomb and GTFO then come back for a second run. If you stick around to launch another you die. I think the OP was asking how useful this skill actually was, not what the skill does.

I have logged in at least 100 hours flying stealth bombers and I think I can count the number of times I launched two bombs in a single run on one hand. Being able to launch a second bomb sooner is really not that useful, void bombs on the other hand....

It really depends on how far away your bounce spot is. It is common to use celestials, which can negate any skill benefit.

Also, ships tend to scatter when bombers are detected, which can also negate any skill benefit.

Just train it to level 4 and forget about it!
