Is it possible to add the creation of folders in the contact-groups?

hundreds of bad contacts I would like group to Corps. So I can see if players of a corp are online.

That would be awesome!
If I understand your request correctly, you are asking for folders in your contacts list to be able to organize your contacts. We already have something similar but better: Labels.
You can assign many labels to a character. So I could for example assign 2 labels called "Bad at EVE" and "My alts" to my alt character Skills*, because he's pretty bad at EVE but he's also me P.
And then when I select the Label categories, he'll show up in both list, as well as in the "All Contacts" and the "Excellent Standings" ones.

*Skills lives on my local server, is not really my TQ alt

Now can you beat some sense into the launcher team? Please? :P
The EVE Launcher teams (really there are three, one for the launcher actual and two other teams for the web components used by the Launcher) are hard at work iterating on the new Launcher. But there are other threads to discuss the Launcher, this thread is about the Little Things coming from CCP karkur and her team in Odyssey. And, no, we are not going to be beating anyone...

Thanks for all the great changes.

And thanks for changing the chat window input field, I tried it on sisi, its makes a big difference :)

OK, to be honest, I'm a little embarrassed to even mention the first one because it's such a tiny tiny change, but since you guys have been asking for it I should tell you about it: you can now make the input field in chat a single line and gain like 20 extra pixels! Yay! :)

Maybe this is a good place to ask for something that would be really useful...

When you're entering a quantity amount in a text box (such as ISK or number of items), the UI doesn't show it clearly until you click off the box. It would be good if we could enter trailing zeroes more accurately. How about instead of typing:
2000000

we type:
2m
As soon as a recognised letter is typed, the box will automatically expand it out to 6 zeroes, and you get 2000000.

This idea is pretty simple to extend out like so:

3k = 3000
10m = 10000000
8b = 8000000000

Should save people time squinting at how many digits they've typed and if they're selling that contract for 100mil, 1bil or 10bn...
Yes... in an ideal world we would have that. It's very tricky to get right, and we just have not put the time into doing that (and I'm not sure we will anytime soon, sorry What?)

Can you at least make it auto-insert commas (or periods for the euros)? If windows calculator can do it then it shouldn't be too hard. Also do this for the ingame calc too, since I don't like trying to count how many tiny zeros it is showing.

I think what he is asking for is for the sorting into corps to be automatic, so he does not have to go through hundereds of contacts and manually label each one. Something like "select contact(s)", "select Add corp label" and all the selected contacts will get a label equal to their corp.

This would be awesome to have in a point release, would save always having to click outside to get the commas added each time, just the sort of small but frequently annoying thing that we love seeing squished Smile

Nice set of changes.

Would it be possible next time some UI tweaking is done to make more input fields selected by default?

Thinking of:
Manufacturing screen, set focus to the 'runs' after an installation is selected and highlight the field. Same with ME and PE research and copying (number of copies)
Would reduce slightly the typing and clicking to set up jobs.

When placing a buy order, would be nice if the bid price starts highlighted.

Please?

This is a great dev blog fixing a lot of annoying little things. Especially the flashing targets when they go boom. but like many others I would like to throw out a request or idea (only if it is at all possible of course) currently when a person receives a Convo invite the result is a bit of an obnoxious pop up window in the face. so my question is would it be possible to make it so that the Convo request goes into a box on the neocom instead? Say click the box and then you get the window pop up on your screen? It would of course not be able to be put into odyssey but might be something to think about. Hopefully I'm not missing this already being put in without realizing it...

Regarding the UI, would it be possible to change some overview filters ?

Due to the recent rebalancing of T1 cruisers, those have been a big part of fleet warfare.

As such, I think you guys could change the following things :

Remove the Force Recon filter.

Remove the Stealth Recon filter.

Add an Electronic Superiority ships, in which you can put T2 recons, their T1 counterpart and T1/T2 EW Frigates.

Add T1 logistic platforms (Like T1 logistic cruisers and T1 logistic frigates).

Of course, this would require that you don't remove the ships I talked about from the regular "Cruisers" "Frigates" filters.

Here's an example.

Let's say you have a fleet of 8 Thoraxes, an Arbitrator and 3 Augorors.

The "Cruiser" filter will show everything.

The "Logistic" filter will only show Augorors.

The "EW" filter will only show the Arbitrator.

That would enhance overview visibility quite a lot.

Another little thing :

A new system with which you can set your orbit easely at the range you want.

Use the same system you used for the Radial menu, but instead, it should only work on the Selected Item window. When someone holds the left click on the Orbit or Keep at Range (or anything on which you can set a value), a little "volume-like bar" shows up, and you can make it lower or higher with the scrollwheel.

How about that ?

I would like to make a request

Could you give us more colour coding options with local? With corps/alliances/factions.

As someone who flies in FW space a lot but is not a part of faction warfare its often a big pain in the ass to find out how many people from each faction are in local (While those who are IN faction warfare see it right away, giving them a big intel advantage)

Being able to give each faction a colour tag in the local bar would be immensly helpful and save a lot of time spent opening every single character in local to see if he is aligned with some faction. You already have the system to assign red, orange, grey, blue and dark blue. I see no reason why we shouldn't be able to assign every color of the spectrum to factions/corps/alliances.

Would be awesome if we could drag and drop from the overview. Even if a shortcut had to be held down... so you could drag names or stargates, stations, ore or anything... and fleet members into watchlist (main reason for wanting it)

Not sure who handles this, but sort by tags in the overview is bad... it has no tags as first when ascending... that is bad design from usefulness point of view. If you could sort by tag + range so all tagged targets appear first, and then all targets besides that are sorted by range or what ever, that would be nice

Since you're cleaning up the watch list, could you add assist/guard drones to the WL? Going through 255 fleet members is annoying. Thanks :)
