Quick update:

I noticed that if you have the "Close the Eve Launcher" checkbox selected in the Launcher it will not remember the credentials you logged in with if it wasn't already saved. Clear that checkbox, re-launch the Launcher, and try a different, unsaved account name. It should save it at that point.

well thats saved me doing a bug report until i actually try that as mine is set to close.

I always shut that off to save memory and bloat, but I guess I'll keep it on long enough to let it save the account names.

I'd make a crack about doing CCP's QA job for them here, but I think everyone at CCP gets this point already. Blink

Wow, yeah, new launcher no bueno. I regularly login several accounts at once, and never had an issue with the old launcher. Now, I have to have an instance of the launcher running for every single account? Come on guys, that's a huge step backwards.

Ok, fixed now. All forgiven. Change is sometimes painful, but I'm sure we'll be better in the long-run. Keep up the good work!

Constructive Feedback? Ok here-

1) In honour of your new Single Sign On protocol, I suggest you change your name from CCP to SSO
-Oh, that means Sony's Sockpuppets Online

2) Since you don't listen to anyone anyway, I suggest you form your own city in Iceland so you don't have to follow any Reykjavik policies or pay them taxes.
- Might I suggest you name it Borkjavik in honour of your stellar patch history?

3) The New Sony Sockpuppets Online corp based in Borkjavik, Iceland should adopt this as it's corporate Logo:
- New Corporate Logo

There. Three constructive ideas and only 2 criticisms. Does that count as constructive ffedback?

"Borkjavik"... LOL, priceless.

There's a million angry citizens looking down their tubes..at me.

Edit:

I'm looking into this now, if I can get a fix, I'll roll it to Singularity.

Will you also roll a working launcher unto SiSi, so we can playtest stuff on TQ and use the working stuff on SiSi?

TL:DR - Non-constructive criticism.

This new launcher is pure horror! What on Earth made you remove the login screen?? Come on CCP, you can do better than that, even when you have the DERP period on (as it seems).

I feel disgusted. Something in the way I get taken to the character screen makes me want to wash myself. I'm very disappointed. Sad

Can you tell me some about your environment? This errorcode means that the response from the server was empty. Can you supply us with the logs from the Launcher, found under launcher\cache in your EVE installation and hopefully the debug.log in the root of your EVE install.

You do realize that your entire post is "non-constructive criticism", yeah?

0/10. Try harder next time.

Any Time frame on a revamp for multiple account players

This is the launcher that makes all of us punch babies.......

Seriously, this is the worst experience since ........ well WoW.....

A definite time frame would put my anger to rest.

Thanks.

Super easy solution that can be implemented by tomorrow:

1) Get rid of the donkey selector, annoying switcher link and so on.

2) Put a scroll box with the list of all account names, each with a checkbox before it.

3) The players checks all the accounts he wants to log in (the checkboxes selection get saved for the next sessions of course).

4) ONE button to press, which spawns all the checked accounts.

Done. Fast, usable, immediate, scalable, requires limited brain and time to implement.

CCP, hire this consultant. It might improve your use-case QA in this area.

Someone mentioned another Launcher update. From the context it sounded like it was automatic. It sounded like the Launcher worked better after the update.

When I started up today, my launcher didn't update.

Did I misunderstand?

Now that the launcher actually works, your suggestions actually ADD time to the launch process. Click a check box next to an account you want to start? You're assuming a) saving passwords [bad idea] and/or b) a "master" account from which all accounts can be controlled. May I suggest you actually use the Launcher? At home this morning I had to click one button, enter creds, and a second client with that account launched, no problem. Your suggestions are both time consuming and counter-intuitive.

Not being critical of your offered solutions but this is the very functionality that CCP is currently showing everyone that they want to get rid of, shame really as running between six and ten accounts needed some days for Corp work will become impossible if they continue along this route.

Question for the day though will be: CCP please explain why you feel that this current log in procedure is required.??

I would like to second that this person should be hired immediately and put in charge of the launcher!

Nope. I just tried it with 4 accounts. Had to wait 15 damn stupid ass seconds between each client launch. Eminently asinine design is still in effect.

Edit: Please explain how you logged in once and launched multiple accounts. Or did I misunderstand what you said?

Hey guys,

Forgive me if I missed something, but my launcher is still running in offline mode.

Troubleshooting:

  • - Ran EVEfile.exe (from the bin folder) which prompted me for an update at the login screen that I accepted and downloaded w/o issue.

  • - Ran repairer.exe which supposedly completed and repaired the build successfully.

Again, please forgive me if I missed the solution somewhere within this massive thread... It's just that I'm actually at work and would love to play EVE on my lunch break! Big smile

run repair.exe and then start from the exefile, not the launcher.

1) Launcher needs to hold more account names. Limit now is 8. I have 10 accounts.

2) Please don't turn the launcher into bloatware, by adding bells and whistles that are not necessary to the basic functions required for sign on and launching the client. E.G. There is absolutely no need for this thing to play videos.

Thanks
