NOT working for me. It says "offline mode" and "Tranquility server: Status unknown". Yesterday i was running Eve through "Exe file", but now is not working.

This thing is getting worst!

Today's patch result? FAIL

Update: First try to run repair tool (as suggested by FAIL of patching) also failed. Attempting again with "--safemode" option

Update: Failed again due to launcher.exe's still running. 6 of these rogue bastards left running. I killed with task manager, but reboot would work as well of course.

Update: Without the rogue launcher.exe's running repair tool was able to complete for both accounts. 1+ hour to patch 6MB of data. Precious.





NFW am I going to open that third account now.

This is the only part of the launcher I care about. All the stupid fluff and extra clicking and waiting while my client is "Launching..." I DO NOT WANT!

The best way to fix this is to get back the old launcher. The new one has to be fixed and improved, there is some good ideas in this topic.

Also, I just timed it. It took 4 minutes and 23 seconds to "validate" my client when I started up the launcher today. Jesus Christ CCP! Are you guys TRYING to make us quit?!?!

I can’t believe THIS is going to be my FIRST EVER EVE Online forum post and that I will have to complain in it.

PROBLEM:
- I have just reinstalled EVE Online.
- Launcher is still “Offline”.
- “Repair” is not doing anything useful for me.
- ExeFile.exe is the only way I can get to game (but as I see this won’t be an option in the future)

SOLUTION:
Why don’t we simple STOP playing the game for let’s say 24 hours.
Nothing will be lost !!! (Skills are still going to be skilled, industry is still going to go on …) but we should show that THIS IS NOT GOING TO BE TOLARATED.
After that if very simple thing as a launcher is fixed in 24 hours - we should not play until OLD LAUNCHER is being reinstated. NOT the patch, NOT the upgrade. OLD ONE. And also we should DEMAND that OLD LAUNCHER should not be changed until it is proven that NEW Launcher works on (for example) TEST SERVER for ALL players who connect to it.

I am maybe a noob but that does not mean I am less important

if they remove the exefile way of logging in on June 4th and this new launcher still isnt sorted, Eve will officially be dead as far as my accounts are concerned.

your missing the point, it should never have been released. They were supposed to have learnt from the Unified Inventory fiasco, but obviously they havent.

I figured after the 60 pages of abuse yesterday that there would be no way CCP could make things worse.....

Going from the response to todays DT it seems that "Where there is a will there is a way" and CCP seem to have endless willpower when it comes to digging themselves deeper into the mire ......

Its already been posted by others, but I have to agree, Don't launch multiple major changes to complex inter-connected IT based systems at the same time or within a very short time frame. SOME bugs show up immediately, others linger in the woodwork. Your double change to Launcher AND client on the same day is a good example of bad planning.

Making changes that, even if they improve back-end systems, are only experienced as a negative/slowdown of the previous systems by the end-user is always going to get you nothing but flack. When those changes render well used processes unworkable you REALLY dont want to mess with them without a VERY good reason. Not seen any evidence of that reason in this case so far .......

I like EVE a lot, I'm enjoying myself more all the time, but I dont like it enough to put up with this kind of performance more than once. I dont think I'm alone in this either, though I'm sure someone will flame me for it anyway.

Hey Guys,

Love the new launcher - because it has a drop down box for characters. This is the single greatest innovation since the introduction of 4 slice bread toasters.

The new profile page on the other hand....

The previous profile home page was awesome... it only had USEFUL stuff on it. Now it looks like... every other forum profile in the known universe. Contact Chatter / Corp Chatter ? Good features, not great as a default since the only people it will directly benefit is players who are more into eve and want to keep a handle on things when they cant login. Yes its a good chunk of the player base but setting a default alienates newcomers who see constant empty on both.

Wheres the stuff about PLEX on the home page ? I like to know when its on sale. And the "Fly with 2" thing, always had me thinking of spinning up another character... which i did because of how insanely awesome it is to have 2 characters with different roles.

is there any chance of a configurable homepage ? If we could configure the profile homepage (eveonline.com - not the launcher) i think that would be epic. I want to have info on PLEX, news, recruiting new players and renewing my account. I dont log on to the website for any other reason.

After today's patch I'm completely unable to play. I start the game with the exe file, it downloads the patch and exits out as normal, the patch installs and then tries to open the new launcher. As the new launcher can't work out that i'm connected to the internet the patch doesn't complete.

So now when i try to open eve using the exe file I'm stuck in a loop of "An update has been downloaded EVE will now close and apply the patch" with it being unable to complete because your new launcher doesn't work.
