running 5 accounts, need to accept eula every time i log them in.. why?

this is like the 15th time i have accepted the eula now, how many more times do i have to accept? why is this a permanent must do in order to play my accounts? Should i not be plexing multiple accounts and just have the 1? why have power of 2 and all that if its just going to be dragged down by stupid useless repeating steps every single account login

So, you just use one character on one account, then.... Yes ?

Got a feeling its in particular the people with multiple accounts that are tearing their hairs out over this launch client.
Its extremely annoying to do multiple clicks and retyping info that the launcher keeps forgetting. Slows down the login
process.
When something makes you go "FFS......" each time you do it, CCP has done something wrong.

Using a launcher should just be a neutral expirience, not making you curse each time you are about to double-click it.

My goodness! I go on vacation for one week and come back to a threadnought and login problems. Lucky for me that some of you brilliant people have found decent work-arounds (shortcut directly to evefile.exe) and CCP fixed some major issues before I logged in unawares.

@ CCP: guys, you've been doing really well with the patches. What happened this time? It seemed like a flash-back to the olden days.

I am having so much trouble with the launcher now - just one thing, really - getting the one (and only one) retained account name to go away so I can log in with a 2nd account. I delete it, I backspace, I try cut-and-paste and 5 out of 6 times, the original account name comes back when I move to the password field.

Bypassing the launcher seems to be the only method that doesn't drive me nuts. Although I understand this leads to issues with updates, etc and is not the way it's supposed to work. Please fix it. Yes, having to type my account name in each time is annoying, but understandable for security reasons. Just make the old account name go away. (or allow those that want to keep them be able to do so)

For the record, I missed the initial roll-out of the new SSO launcher. I do not have trouble with the EULA repeatedly showing up nor did I lose my settings. (after restart of the client/launcher, that is)

@ CCP QA Team - tsk tsk tsk. You _can_ do better. You have done better in the past.

Further to my last on Page 127 . . .

The old launcher allowed me to bring up multiple pages before the Server was online, have the login name and password entered in their respective fields, and when the server came up, all I had to do was click OK and bang, logged in, up to 7 clients online in less than a minute.

NOW I can not prep my entry to the game

Some guy wich now prolly has the name CCPWASJUSTFIRED. Or at least i hope that. But in this game, dreams never come true. Just nightmares. Big smile

CCP you should rename the Dev in charge of making the new launcher to CCP Debacle.

Oh, one more thing: i love how the launcher shows your client ready before server starts up. This is prolly a imbalance to the times when client showed server offline but server was on and people were playing. Lol

The launcher doesn't show at all for me. When I start it, it puts two processes that I can see in task manager. I didn't notice at first so I ended up with ~12 launcher processes running.

I've been using the exefile directly to login to the game but that failed after todays patch. It failed to update Sad

Edit: Started properly on my 20th try. Please make a proper launcher

I thought CCP Guard or CCP Phantom had said that those responsible for this "launcher" (read: failure) weren't going home before it was fixed?
Can they really work for 2 days straight (If this happens, it might answer why we end up with junk like this), or did the person who stated that mislead us?

I think CCP should do 3 things: 1 don't bring something in that will 'commit unwilling intercourse' their customers with the promise that, when the current failure is replaced, might be cool (18 months down the line), 2 listen to test server feedback (hey, do you remember the unified inventory?) and 3 do both regular QA and use-case testing.
You might want to ask yourselves why this happens so often.

I appeal people with more than just one account and with launcher-problems to cancel their alt accounts' subs.
Not the main account (the new launcher nearly works, and almost as well as the old launcher+login screen for mains), but the alts that CCP clearly "didn't want anyway".
It's what CCP does that counts, not the garbage they say.

Make them learn the hard way (again).

Constructive feedback for you:
It might be worth you noting that the only reason you keep you're player base despite the huge amount of upset you seem to cause them, is that you are unique in the game you offer. Keep upsetting them and this will change, someone will create something not even as good, but good for its consumers and they will get your audience. Might be worth fixing it before someone takes advantage of you.

I have to agree with Leggey here.

Some of us have been playing this game for a long time. When you guys (CCP) make changes to the game it seems that our request for changes and fixes are ignored in place of fluffy graphics and pointless sh*t.

It feels like we are moving back in time... say like North Korea 1950

And over the past 2 years you have managed to screw up PICK_A_NOUN

But we, the community, the players are what make Eve successful. We are the ones who continually pull in our friends, girlfriends, wives, brothers, sisters, nephews to come play with us. It's the community that makes the game, not the game itself.

If you continue to ignore us and treat us like idiots, we will leave... and take our extended families elsewhere. We will pull them away from their machines to do other things.

I'll be happy with putting all my toons in cold storage and stop paying you 80+ bucks a month.

As for the launcher, CCP Guard I know your trying to do the right thing, but a FAQ for what is basically a login screen? Who does that?

We dont need to have the ability to tweet or skype from the login, fluffy graphics, a warp tunnel each time we gate jump or flashy animated icons that suck power away from our already over priced graphics cards.

Give us the content we ask for and tell those idiots who are asking for the fluff to sod off. They are not paying the bills.

1,000,000 times this!

Ok, new launcher works for me, but it gets tedious, especially with multiple accounts.

Can you give us a command line switch that lets us specify an account and password to launch directly from the exe: Something along the lines of

launcher.exe /username "accountA" /password "pwdA"

would auto launch the client if patching was ok.

That would work just as well for me and let me setup multiple shortcuts on my desktop to launch the appropriate client quickly, and save me a step of having to drop down, click, tab, password, enter, etc... I have no clue what command line is currently supported, but that would be a significant step in making the client launch a lot faster for those of us who have multiple accounts.

Z.

This is the best idea I've read all day!

well time to cancel 3 of my accounts it will only let me run one eve client. I have 4 seperate directories I run eve from to prevent conflicts.

Awesome
