After half an hour of frustration, I managed to get back into eve by running the repair tool and then launching the EXEFILE directly, thus bypassing the launcher. I immediately spread this information to everyone else I knew who was having similar problems.

I have to say that loading the game without the launcher is a definite improvement, so.... good update, I guess?

how do you launch from the exefile?

Unless you send the launcher logs or provided more information in your post CCP will have a hard time figuring out what needs to be fixed.

If i dont know something about EVE. I check https://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/ISK_The_Guide

Before, the launcher would start but would freeze at 100% of "applying patch". Now, the launcher doesn't start up at all. I can only get into the game through evefile.exe.

Hey everyone.

We've had a meeting where we discussed what went wrong around the deployment of the launcher as well as the issues many of you have had with the launcher, the community reaction and our next steps. We realize that communication hasn't been up to par in the last 24 hours. We've mostly focused on messaging workarounds to specific issues in this thread but we haven't been able to address the situation in its entirety. We will be working on writing a dissection of what went wrong yesterday, as well as an FAQ on the launcher, specific problems, and what our next steps are in improving your experience.

This is just the heads up. I wanted you to know that we are working full force over here to make things right with you. Please bear with us for now.

is this going to contain you restoring the functions multibox user need to actually play eve there way? a yes or no will help pls
This please. I care little about any other aspect of the launcher except that the new one makes me want to stab myself when logging in multiple accounts.

I said it before and I'll say it again. Just stop all meetings, and get the right people sat at their stations to roll this mess back first. That should have been step one and should have already been done. Then resume the meets and figure out what to do next and release it when you have all these issues figured out.
But we have to have preliminary pre-meeting meetings about planning for a meeting that will lay the groundwork for a meeting we might put together about planning for another meeting.

All kidding aside, I've worked in the corporate IT world and my statement above isn't far from the truth about how it works with meetings! 95% meetings, 2% actually doing, and 3% bitching about all the useless meetings. Lol

It looks very pretty and it works for me but soooo sloooow. Also I don't like the fact I can't paste my password in - I always paste passwords now to avoid keystroke hacking.

i support this common sense statement. the launcher should really be optimized for multibox users. CCP would see the biggest bang for their buck by catering to this segment of their player base. they also have the most to lose by upsetting this group.

Lol

We have been trolled by CCP P.

This is probably the worst chunk of software I've seen in a long time. Multiple accounts are hardcore now.

Nevermind. Again, CCP managed to deliver good entertainment. After all, they made me forget about that cost estimate I got today for my car repairCool.

For myself, thank you for communicating something. I'm sure it goes without saying that critical issues should be resolved before any kind of public dissection of the causes are aired, but I do appreciate the communication. Maybe keeping us up every couple hours on progress would be appreciated by many, including those that a) still can't get into the app and b) those that don't have the tech saavy to launch the Eve executable directly. The issue of multiboxing, I think we can all agree, is for the coming days after the customers are up and running again. Smile

OK i had to do this > go to the CCP file then > Bin > then click on the 'Exefile' file.

dont bother with a petition because you will get asked to run the stupid repair tool which did j.s , and get told 'the server is currently online' - awesome.

How many times are you going to give us this same boilerplate apology? We know it doesn't mean anything and is about as sincere as Clinton saying he did not have sexual relations with that woman. It is borderline insulting, not only how you have handled this, but your gross lack of competence.

1,000 times this. Every JF pilot and many combat capital pilots are glaring lasers at Iceland right now over this.

Workflow to run JF last week:
Run launcher
Click Play n times, where n is the number of cynos needed plus one for JF
Log in JF
Log in cynos, invite to fleet from JF
Go about business.

Workflow today:
Run launcher
Click password box to give focus
Log in JF
Click Play
for each cyno {
click Switch Account
click password box to give focus
Log in cyno
Click play
invite to fleet
}
Go about business
