err i have not had any problems with launcher or game what am i doing wrong .

validating client for 10 mins is bad
bring back the old launcher

So I log in today and find that the cache settings on all 21 of my characters are reset, gone, poof, history.

Who signed this change off?

I've been in software dev for 30+ years so I would assume you have something that looks like an industry standard panel of cross functional people on a change control board who review all changes and sign them off? If so please give each one of them a written warning and place it on their employment records.

I can't believe a software dev company who has made the mistakes you've made in the past wouldn't at least think before shooting your foot off, in fact do you have any ******* feet left?

Totally agree.

While it is not really game breaking changes in mechanics or anything like that still CCP wastes a lot of potential for showing of the awesomeness of the game right from the launch of it.

I remember how this whole useless launcher project was justified some time ago. someone from CCP was saying that "everyone uses a launcher for their games so we have to do it too". To hear that from ccp, running a mmo for more than a decade now makes me pretty sad. Something like "everyone runs these useless launchers but we will not do that for the eve client, we will keep our awesome log-in screen and the cool news section of the character selection to do what others need a launcher for" would have been the right approach.

Now with the latest "improvement" to the log-in process that launcher becomes a real pain in sensible parts of my body. Before it was just a little annoyance.

Sorry CCP Devs, i totally don't like what you do in that regard. And i am massively afraid already of the newly invented radial menus nobody needs... They will also take a lot of energy out of the community until they are reverted back far enough to not be too big of an annoyance anymore. I can already clearly sense that happening soon. Sorry guys. Great game otherwise : )

Confirming that restarting launcher and client fixes stuff.

Ok, before CCP kill the facility and for those of you that have apparently LOST there Usernames from the log in screen of this amazing new and improved yet utterly rubbish IMO, log in facility, here is a simple tip to recover this information quickly and without drama.

C:\Program Files (x86)\CCP\EVE\bin

Copy paste that line into your windows search and press enter.

this will open the BIN file for you, perfectly safe to do and it contains the 'ExeFile' which you need to locate, highlighted by the EVE symbol.

Once you have found it, right click it and select 'Create Shortcut' this will appear at the bottom of the same page, usual shortcut identification of a curving blue arrow overlaying the EVE logo.

Drag and drop this onto your desktop, NOT THE ORIGINAL, close the explorer and then simply click that shortcut, the Original utterly useless and totally insignificant EVE launcher will open for you along with all your User names neatly stored as before.

Currently you can still use this launcher to open your clients without a problem, been doing it since the patch, hence avoiding all the drama of the past 24 hours, Suggest you also open the New and improved utterly perfect launcher currently offered by CCP's perfectionist Devs and copy your information over in the order you want them, failure to do this correctly will result in your listing being fixed in that order so think about which toons you use first and most and load them in order from there.

CCP Devs will probably read this and instantly either block it or remove the described facility so my guess is it will be time dependent.

Dear CCP,

Your core product income relies on people buying multiple accounts in order to play this game effectively. You are well aware of this as you have designed in game features to correspond to this model. A few examples of these features where multiple accounts shine the best are: industrial/mining/hauling/scout/super/cyno alts. You are very well aware of this as you even offer the power of two package, thus encouraging people to get alts.

So the the question remains, why screw the people that provide you with large quantaties of profit?

Why change (and break) something that wasn't broken?

Ah well.. innovation through complication then it seems. Logging multiple accounts... sigh.

Wrecked all my settings aswell and none of these fixes are working...

I cba fiddling around with files to fix something CCP broke so i've just started redoing all my settings, it'll take an hour or 2... Great fun!

Just what I was hoping to see when I logged on...

Thanks for the new launcher CCP, it's a decent and quicker way of logging in imo, but what an annoying way of doing it! lol
