I finally managed to get EVE to work on a different computer, THANKS CCP for wasting 5 hours of my time.

Don't blame CCP for your waste of 5 hours. They did not come to your home and force you to do anything. Take some accountability for your own actions. I agree the patch sucked to high heaven but don't blame them for something you did on your own accord.

I don't know. Maybe if they didn't have the patch in the first place?

I suppose the alternative of not wasting 5 hours is to just not play the game. If that is the scenario, then why did you pay them money for a game you can't pay? I could have more fun making street bums dance for $15.

Or maybe you could of just did something else until it was fixed?

I'm having no Issue with the new Launcher, I really apreciated it! way better then the last one!

Although, there is a thing that bothers me since the last one, can I have an option in the Launcher to lauch eve and as soon as it pops up, it gets MAXIMIZED? I play it in windows mode, (not fullscreen, so I can see other programs, work and people calling me in chats, TS, Skype, Facebook) but I like it covering 99% of my screen, so I set it to maximized, but every time I start the clien it goes back to the normal window size.

Is there a way to add it? Please? It is just one extra click to me, but it makes somewhat difference...

1. I can not right click to paste in the user name or password. - Important if I can not be arsed to get out of bed and only using the spare wireless mouse.

2. User names don't seem to even save - I'm guessing they are meant to as you have a drop down box arrow.

3. I'll be changing all my shortcuts to the bin/ExeFile.exe until this is more streamlined for people with multiple accounts and have passwords that are not easy to remember (headbutt keyboard in notepad is a good way of making a random password).

Posting another reply about how it sucks we lost the login screen and music. GTFO.

No, you didn't. Just launch directly from exefile.exe.

using this work around as logging into game shouldn't be such a ball ache.

forgetting usernames
no focus on password box
no pasting passwords/user names in to the boxes
no option to tab through options and click enter.. why can I not hit enter on the dam play button ffs

OMG when can i get a pic here

What the hell were you idiots thinking by giving us this terrible launcher, its almost completely functional. Takes forever to load and a nightmare to use. Whoever designed this needs to be sacked.

Someone with foresight and who listens to their customers needs to change it back.

Hi there,

Have two issues after the system started working this morning.

1) All my settings have gone - I even got the intro movie when I first went in. Everything on all 4 accounts is back to "Clean Install" settings - I have my overlay saved though! But all my windows are reset - all key bindings gone.

2) Exiting the game client leaves the Gamma of the screen the client was running on set dark. So if I run the main client on my left monitor, after I exit the left monitor is really dark.

Otherwise it's the new launcher!
Cheers

Not sure if this has been posted on the forum yet - If it has I had a hard time finding it because of all the rage going on :)

Like many others I had my settings cleared by the new launcher but, on close inspection things werent as bad as they first appeared. I always backup my settings folder every so often anyhow (because ccp). And when I went to restore the settings after the launcher randomly removed them this morning I discovered something interesting.

Normally my settings are located in the following folder (windows 7 x64 - your mileage may vary)

C:\Users\[My Windows Username]\AppData\Local\CCP\EVE\c_program_files_(x86)_ccp_eve_tranquility\settings

However the new launcher seems to have created a new folder / settings under:

C:\Users\{My Windows Username\AppData\Local\CCP\EVE\c_progra~2_ccp_eve_tranquility\settings

Copying all the files from the first folder to the second restored my settings. Good old ccp, I didnt think anyone used the old style 8.3 paths for anything anymore.. Oh well, hope that helps someone!

Edit, already posted here along with other useful tips: https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=238145&find=unread

I was using the launcher up until now .... well done CCP you just made me want to use the eve exe to launch my game. Maybe you should think a little before changing stuff as the majority of players use more than 1 account and this launcher makes that a lot slower and more difficult. Until I can launch multiple accounts from it through SSO I wont be using this.

And well done on screwing up my settings yet again. Yes I am aware there is a work around but the point is I shouldnt have to use one. Bad design is still bad design. Regards

New launcher is ******* terrible.

It now takes me more time and a mouse button click to login.....

Seriously, who the **** made this? The department of apes?

At least make it optional like the launcher used to!

You know what was great, worked well and wasnt broken in any way. The old log in screen. It had excellent music, nice animated backgrounds and really got you in the mood for the game.

You know whats clunky, boring, unnatractive and dosent do the job well. The new launcher. I dont understand why you felt the need to make the changes to a fully functional and enjoyable part of the game that was harming absolutely no body.

New CSM this is your chance to shine and represent your player base.

Just a helpful (I hope) reminder for people: You don't have to use the launcher at all (except to update when there's a patch release). Create shortcuts to the ExeFile.exe file which resides in the "bin" folder inside your EVE folder (If you installed to the default, it is one of these: http://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/EVE_default_directories ) and run these instead. This way I was able to preserve my overview settings, chat channels and avoid the clunky logging in of multiple accounts that has been a staple "feature" of this launcher.

As for CCP stating that this is to create an improvement further down the road: Half-completed features do not make for improvement. Unhappy customers do not make for an improvement. Not listening to test server feedback does not make for an improvement. For the love of Cthulhu, stop making what are effectively rookie mistakes.

I love your game, stop punishing me for it.
