Of course it still works. The only real issue is using the actual launcher to start them up.

No problem with the launcher for multiple clients either, you must be doing it wrong.

Does this new launcher mean we have lost the login music for Odyssey and future expansions?

Regarding users running from Steam: when you start the client from Steam the EVE Launcher throws an exception along the lines of "Sorry an error occurred while processing your request" followed by an error code. We are aware of this issue, and can reproduce it in house and we're working on a fix. In the mean time you can work around the problem by starting the EVE client from outside of Steam.

To find the EVE installation associated with your Steam account, right click EVE Online in your Steam library and goto Properties, and from there select the Local Files tab and click the Browse Local Files button. This should open a window showing your EVE installation. From here simply double click eve.exe. If you're still experiencing issues after using this work around, please file a bug report and attach the logs from the EVE Launcher that will be found inside the launcher\cache folder.

Total.. piece... of **** (manually entered asterisks ftw :D )

Seriously guys, this was the absolute worst thing next to UNIFIED INVENTORY.

/uninstall.

I'm using wine on Debian. To get the launcher started I had to switch some libraries from builtin to native.
The launcher got several minutes (not seconds, MINUTES!) to validate the client and during this time my dual 3GHz cpus was blasted to 100% all the time. Shocked
After this, only with the launcher opened, my dual 3GHz cpus still ran at 50%, just to show some static images with some characters drawed bad, WTF, it takes more load the a 3d nebula in game when usually spin my cpus at 25%. That's crazy
But the best is to run the client I have to switch back my libraries to builtin, EVERY ******* TIME.
Before I had to switch only on updates.

To get in-game I've got rid of launcher running directly bin/ExeFile.exe.

Onestly CCP, this is pure crap. This idiocy is much more annoying then the infamous changing of the inventory. You always have to mess something to get some extrawork. Maybe you have lot of spare time...
That works too good for CCP standards so you choose to mess it up....

Please, roll it back

Eve is the only game where you even have to know the file structure of the installation to work around potential CCP messups. Metagaming at its best :)

/edit: Just use the launcher for patching and start the game with the ExeFile. Works flawless for now.

yup, NEVER had to go shuffling files for any other game, *Snip* Please refrain from personal attacks. ISD Ezwal

Can you guys make up your mind about MultiBoxing?

You advertise using alts with a Power of Two promotion, yet not only do you not support MultiBoxing, you're also looking to stop it with this launcher.

ok bye

This is by far the crappiest update I've ever seen. You've unofficially made it a gigantic pain in the rear to log in a second account concurrently through the SSO or whatever its called. Now instead of simply managing 3 clicks and a password I have to clear out the first login, sign a EULA, provide the name of one of the characters on the account AND THEN select whatever godforsaken alt I choose to log in second.

And now rather than use the updater, which by my account at least worked and had a generalized PLAY button and was fine, almost quick even for launching second accounts, you implement yet another **** feature that was criticized heavily in the SISI forums for being inadequate and not friendly. Its as if nothing at all that was said at FANFEST about being responsive to the player base was really meant, and instead we get lip service and awful crap like this to replace something that worked FINE.

You don't care what the players say about the service you roll out, that's fine, that's your business in the end, but don't sit there and chum around with each other, patting your proverbial backs on a great job at being responsive to what those players think, and blatantly ignore it to roll out something for the sake of your timeline.

Shame on you guys, I thought lessons had been learned since Incarna.

Current issues:
Validation seems to take a considerable amount of time.
Launcher does not seem to remember usernames properly.
Launcher does not seem to switch between usernames properly.
Logging in multiple accounts takes more time and effort than before.

Several people who tested this launcher on Singularity told you about the latter three problems and that they needed to be fixed before you pushed the launcher through to Tranquility. You didn't listen.

Enjoying the rain today? ;)

DO NOT LIKE THE NEW LAUNCHER!! it makes logging into several accounts a total PITA. who cares about logging into the same account multiple times?!? this is unwanted functionality. the old launcher allowed us to easily open several clients for each of our accounts. the new method requires a new login for each launcher; where is the benefit in this?!? someone really needs to fix this, its a f'in mess.

Ok, CCP... you have made a game where the payers must HACK THEIR OWN COMPUTERS (nearly anyway) and look up files in some directory somewhere just to play it.

And on TOP of that, you have created a new client launcher that makes it so that a player who pays $100 a month to play multiple accounts...

... can no longer do that.

And to all of you who keep saying; "oh I'm doing multiple accounts right now just fine. You must be doing something wrong."...

... well how about you TELL THE REST OF THE WORLD HOW YOU AND ONLY YOU FIXED THE PROBLEM!!!

Instead of blaming the problem on the player who PAYS THIS CORPORATION FOR A PRODUCT, and saying it must be the players fault for not being a programming genius like you...

... how about you try HELPING THE REST OF THE GAMING COMMUNITY, and either tell us how you did it, your workaround, or SHUT THE F*** UP!!!

competent people might`ve actually done that.. fixed the KNOWN bugs before pushing product on the mass.. but it`s ccp we`re talking about here man.. when was the last time they actually did something smart?

Talk about getting down to business on the first date. I'd like a little romance first. You know, a little groping here and there after the movie.

C'mon CCP, you know this ain't right. Where's the music? The lead up? The increased heart rate?

You can start by telling me how you plan to restore all of my window and UI settings which you once again nuked for no obvious reason and with absolutely no benefit.

I already had one foot out the door of this game for months, starting with when you flushed drone boats down the loo. I was waiting to see if anything non-shite might happen with the Big Changes this year. But I think this is just about all the kick I needed to go ahead and /uninstall.

EvE is supposed to suck.  Wait . . . what was the question?

LAUNCHER WILL NOT APPLY PATCH.

Took a 2 hour nap, came back and it's still on 3/4 steps.

Restarted computer, re opened client and it's still stuck on this step.

I did, you don't seem to be able to read:

Ok I lied i finally got the update the way this launcher operates is completely annoying for subscribers with multiple accounts.

1. Read this:
http://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Multiple_clients#Running_multiple_EVE_clients_on_same_computer
2. Pay attention to Method 1 - Junctions
3. Do it
4. ?????
5. Profit

Seriously though, that's how I have multiple clients set up, and each client has it's own settings, including launching each client on the monitor it was configured for. If you configure your launchers to exit after launching the eve client, then all you have to do is launch each launcher after the last one is closed.

By doing this, you only patch one client (don't ever run 2 launchers at the same time, the files get out of synch and then you end up having to patch 2 clients).

Your launchers will only have to verify one client, and everything should work peachy.
Plus you don't have to take up the space of having multiple client installs.
