Hey guess what guys....No you haven't guessed it.

The correct response is that I am now actually extracting the recently installed new client.....finished.....Let's see what she's got.

Thanks for ruining my setups and every other ccrap i can now spend days on.But offcourse the launcher needed this update as SO many people where complaining about the current launcher right CCP?Unlike pos's for example ...nah pos's don't need work , not like people are asking that for years in a row , no THIS launcher needed an overhaul badly.

Just like the hangar needed it badly last time ... perfect priorities as usuall.

CCP: Pos's broken since day 1.

Edit: For the record, I still hate the unified inventory, and it still doesn't do what it was designed to do, namely, allow me to search assets and let me see what is inside things without actually opening them.

Best workaround is to go into your Eve directory, find the bin file, and create a shortcut to exefile.exe; bypasses the launcher completely.

now its a nightmare to log into multiple accounts. the old launcher didnt make it much better and it seems this iteration continues the trend to make it worse to log into multiple accounts

of all things to fix.....this is what you choose? dont think anyone really cared, even if it would work

Had no issues with the update, everything is fine, kinda like logging in on the launcher. Now if only the launcher remebered where my clients are supposed to be.

... however, once you have it installed, isboxer just bypasses it. So its not going to be needed again till the next patch.

  • Old launcher said "unable to connect to the internet", but had a button to "Launch Eve". Pressing that button resulted in Eve saying "wrong protocol".

  • Downloaded new launcher installer from the CCP dev post link (at the start of this thread) and ran that.

  • New launcher also did not connect, and lacked the button to launch Eve.

  • Ran ExeFile.exe manually (by the way, how about naming the game executable something a bit more descriptive, like "EveOnline.exe" or "EveClient.exe" ?), got a prompt saying there was a game update, and telling me it would now be installed.

  • Ran game update, which, after updating the game, re-downloaded the launcher update and ran that again.

  • Final window said there had been an error during the update. Turned out to be because the launcher was already running (why can't the launcher updater close the launcher or at least give a descriptive error message?).

  • Closed launcher, ran ExeFile.exe again. Got the prompt saying there was an update again. This time the update ran "correctly" (re-updating the already updated game and re-updating the already updated launcher) but, once finished, launched the (new) launcher, which said I wasn't connected to the internet.

  • Ran ExeFile.exe again. Got the "there's a new game update" prompt again.

  • Basically stuck in a cycle; starting launcher results in "no connection", running ExeFile.exe results in a never-ending update cycle.

  • Ran Repair.exe instead (again, how about naming it something more descriptive, like "EveRepair.exe" ?).

  • Got an error saying the launcher was running and couldn't be updated (at least the repair tool says what is causing the error, but still, couldn't it simply close the launcher?).

  • Repair finished without reporting any errors (i.e., apparently without doing anything).

  • Ran ExeFile.exe again.

  • No update prompt this time; Eve Finally started and was able to connect to the server.

Based on this, my advice to anyone having problems is:

  1. Close the launcher (use Process Explorer / Task Manager / etc. to make sure it's really not running).
  2. Run the repair tool.
  3. After it finishes, run ExeFile.exe (and not the launcher)

Everybody here seems to spend way more time and effort bitching about pretty much everything than they'd actually need to spend to get over the new launcher.

Enjoying the rain today? ;)

The Buddy Program Slide Show is not really needed. We get the point with the single advertisement pane.

The Buddy Program Slide Show would be a good place to provide a link to the following:

Purchasing AUR

Purchasing A Plex with money

Purchasing a Plex with ISK - This would open the players wallet so that the player could access the market directly to buy a Plex if the player has enough ISK to make the purchase. If not then the player would have the Four Hour Tour option available.

Launching the Four Hour Tour for a player to purchase a Plex

So sit right and enjoy this story of an enchanted desert isle....A four hour tour....a four hour tour.....

The purpose of Single-Sign-On is to REDUCE the number of required logins.
