EVE Launcher update on May 21, 2013

then skip the launcher all together by runnigthe c:/programs/ccp/eve/ExeFile.exe file to open the game

New launcher running - did you change the validation algo? 'Cause it is taking waaaaaay longer to run.. WTH?

Please close your EVE Clients and the EVE Launcher and then restart the EVE Launcher again. When you start the EVE Launcher the first time it looks for your settings in the wrong place, that is fixed as soon as you start the EVE Launcher the next time, then it will load the settings from the correct location.


This fixed my market quickbar problem.

After hours of messing around, I deleted the old installation, and re-installed. That took about 2 hours.

The first time I started the launcher, I got a blank popup. Second time I finally got a launch screen. It's now validating the client.

From what I can see, the new launcher is going to be of limited usefulness to me, since I have 5 accounts. I really think the old launcher was better.

If I start Eveexe.exe multiples times, will it let me pick the account I want to use?

Edit: I'm also curious about why many people apparently didn't have a problem. When I first started trying to log on, EveMon was telling me that Tranquility was online and 32,000 characters were playing. My system is standard Windoze 7. The installation directory is the default. ??

well the new launcher is looking generic, more like the other launchers of other games, it's ok, and you never get better without evolving, so i guess props to CCP

They are probably finding the FTP w/ micro transaction model to be more profitable and thus shifting people that way.

I use Eve through steam and when I start and restart the launcher I get the Error code: 79F417E0-1695-4AD1-A6D2-78AD39C4D74D and no play or start button to enter the game. Any ideas?Big smile

I can start through the bin folder but would like it to work properly.

I have run the repair tool at least 3 times with the same results. However, I end up with no saved settings. This is occurring after the declared fix. Any thoughts? Question

Hmm. Right away (after getting it working) I don't like the new launcher as it gives me a few issues.

I generally run two accounts at once on the same PC and alt-tab between them. I used to start up the launcher then hit "play" twice and use my different accounts on each client that popped up. Now I need to log into the launcher, launch the client, alt-tab back to the launcher, log out, log in with account 2, launch the client again... and it seems much more cumbersome and slow.

Plus the "retribution" login screen is gone, the progress loading bars seem to overlay on top of one another so they are an unreadable mass of white pixels...

Oh, and it wouldn't launch anything until I re-downloaded the launcher, ran the update again and I now have to run it as admin just to get it to start....

Not impressed. It was so smooth and seamless before...

Why the Client check is Slower with the New Louncher ?

Nexttime PLS. Dont fix Running Software.

Fix Importand Things Like Pos ect.

Well.

There's an option to "clear cached usernames". Very useful.

Only the launcher doesn't seem to remember any usernames. At all.
Very annoying indeedm espcially with multiple accounts.
And even worse as I have it, multiple installs. I never used to enter the usernames at all, only passwords.

Please fix, at least give us the option.

Hell, I would like it to remember my password as well (as an option)

seems to be making a lot of other programs crash and uses an overly amount of RAM...

Maybe something i'm doing wrong.

Worst ******* launcher ever in history of computing. Why the hell do we need this pile of steaming ****? I want to start the game. Easy and fast. Not have to retype my login name gazillion times because the **** launcher can't even remember that. Not to mention hit login button and then get to enjoy hitting play because I obviously want to hang around in *Snip* Please refrain from personal attacks. ISD Ezwal the launcher. Then we have the whole creating new directory for settings with the wonderful DOS relic ~1 in the middle of the name...

The new launcher is working Lol but

Proposal 1: As a bittervet I have more than one account. I'm wishing a solution for a better upstart of the client, like a "play" button for each account.


Proposal 2: I need a button to make the launcher smaller but usable. I pay even when the screen clutter is gone.
