EVE Launcher update on May 21, 2013

Had same troubles as many others.

Run repair exe and started the client @ ExeFile.exe. This works for the moment.

Will try tomorrow @ launcher and hoping he wil do his job.

And btw. 2 all the complainers, whiners and mimimi´s:

I don't think people understood the issue at all...


Sure they did.. shiptoasting in all caps to run the repair client repeatedly obviously helped fix the server issues.

This app hlp out a friend.

I only copied everything change today as a ressult of the new launcher into a zip file called EVE.zip

when opened it shows U'r basic layout of U'r EVE install folder just copy over all files and dir's and U should be good.

What type of Drugs your Using to code this Crap.

Dont Update Working Stuff Fix other Things like POS ect.

If only it was announced.

So, its working now. Is there a reason the log off button was removed and an extra step was added to logging in? It just makes it take even longer to switch characters than it did before which was already a pain in the ass.

ran repair.exe (again) and a new launcher got installed. Smile
Game launches from this launcher after verification and login.

both laptops work fine, tower doesnt want to load, no error messages at all, just wont run?

After 4 hours of trying everything, made it in Thanks to Chribba!
Hope I can continue to use the .exe walk around,
kind of like old-school before the launcher.

Epic, Epic Fail by €€P, I thought they could not Top Boot.ini and Incarna, but I was wrong:

1. We are confronted with that POS Captains Quarters AGAIN.

THIS LAUNCHER IS THE WORST UPDATE

Do you even think about the players with alts? now i have to open this peice of **** launcher for ever character i want to log in.

What idiot made this a connection based launcher? Its the most misreble thing ive ever had to run. Stop makeing things worse trying to be fancy. Make it simple and easy to run.

Launcher only need the be 2 things, the client updater and a BIG LAUNCH button to open clients AND NO AUTO CLOSE

FFS, My **** is all like this too, market quickbar on all 3 characters are gone as well. Fix this ****, holy **** what a clusterfuck. TESTING ever hear of it...

Also wanted to say the new launcher seems slow and clunky. Good ******* job assholes...

Please close your EVE Clients and the EVE Launcher and then restart the EVE Launcher again. When you start the EVE Launcher the first time it looks for your settings in the wrong place, that is fixed as soon as you start the EVE Launcher the next time, then it will load the settings from the correct location.

There is a launcher option to disable auto-close. Still, it is very annoying that you have to switch logins in the launcher if you're running multiple accounts. Single-Sign-On in the launcher is not a good idea with multiple accounts.

*Snip* Please refrain from personal attacks. ISD Ezwal This new launcher is very slow and does not cater to multiboxers at all. I had to type my 3rd account username in 4 times before the launcher would actually take it and stop replacing it with the first username!

I could tolerate the launcher when it only came up to patch the client, but now that I have to interact with it just to login, its most annoying! I'll probably change my shortcut to just launch the Exefile.exe directly rather than launch the launcher, and then just run the launcher when I need to patch.

SSO is great and all, but I think you've slightly missed the point. SSO is supposed to identify the user/person, but it only really works if every physical person has a ONE-to-ONE relationship with a logical person in your database. Since we know you have a ONE-to-MANY relationship between players and their accounts, SSO is not a good solution here. If you truly want SSO to succeed and not drive your players mad or make them quit the game, then your first priority needs to be to create the infamous "super account" so that multiboxers like myself (and probably at least 1/2 the EVE community) can have one account, one login, and be able to add/remove slots and characters as desired. I think this is the only way to properly implement SSO in your environment.

PLEASE CCP, when you do stuff like this, take your entire playerbase into consideration and make ALL new features optional!

For all of those bashing CCP for "not fixing the issue." Please by all means, go do it better. They've brought you the game and services thus far and yet you complain about a simple launcher issue...the gaming community is saddening. Have some patience I'm sure they're working on it.Pirate

I have downloaded the launcher, but now it fails to ininialise at all

So I ran Eve Repair tool, it downloads a 19MB patch, then I get this:

WindowsError: [Error 5] Access is denied: 'C:\\Program Files\\CCP\\EVE\\launcher\\launcher.exe

u fix a problem with another one? right?

you'll have a patch for it, also? hope not ...

please just code that the launcher fails at first start and then restart :)
