I think I have found the problem

There is a file called VC90.CRT Manifest which links directly to this file http://www.ctrringshop.com/?gclid=COLR3diBqLcCFeZFMgodDVQAEw

I think CCP forget to install the newest Polly Pocket Ring Decoders.

The connection issues are being investigated. This is a simple (but extremely annoying) case of our webservers not responding.

If your settings are gone then please restart the client/launcher. This apparently was an issue that could happen with the old launcher update mechanism that we replaced with a better version.

Annoying isn't the words i would use :/ I got no notification you were doing this upgrade.... I was happily bustin through guristus extra when i was rudely crashed out of the game... now I can kiss that ship good bye.... now I can't even get back on..

SOMEONE F**KED UP BADLY... I HOPE WE GONNA GET BETTER THAN 'OPPS THAT'S ANNOYING'.... :(

Hi Guys...

The Same thing happen to me when I lunch Eve Launcher, It would give me a Message that said No internet connection found.
So I tried re-installing the Client but still the same error happen.
I downloaded the Launcher which was in this forum and now i had a new cool looking launcher but said no internet connection found relaunch launcher and still nothing. Only a message about a cookie O_o...

So this is what I did I repaired the Client and then went to the eve folder where you can find the Bin Folder. I Open it and found the ExeFile and Open it (Running it as Admin) Then it skipped the launcher stepped and took me straight to the log in screen. Where I logged in and enter the world of eve where the Faction ships change ONLY the skin color and NOT shape.... Also where Tech II Ships ONLY change Skin color as well... oh I almost forgot and NAMES!;.... but the ship STAYS... the same
The only difference is the color and name... I guess what CCP can only do is Change the Skin Color of the Ship.... Mhmm... oh and names....Hopefully this year we see a change and more of an effort in CCP to have more creativity when it comes with the shape of ships also Planets... since they look like Golf Balls floating in space..... How about you make them bigger? and actually change the colors maybe by the regions they are in? More planets? Different Planets? Better Combat affects? Also Audio? The Gate Jump Effect in this new Patch should of been done a long time ago... Back to the topic

#1 Repair the Client (If you re-installed like me then just download the new launcher Manually Found in Page 1)
#2 Open the Eve File Folder Find the BIN Folder open it
#3 Find the ExeFile and Lunch it.

Hopefully this works for you It has worked for myself and my Corp/Mates

To the Dev question:

I can connect to the txt link u gave, the other one dont work.

Tried the eve file in bin and it always tells me that the update has been downloaded and that it will exit so that the update can be completed (which I had already done before). After all is finished, I get the new launcher (as before) but no connection.

Also I wanted t confirm what others have said, that upon quitting launcher... in task manager shows a multitude of launcher.exe (up to 6 in my case so far).

And to the mac user down here.... the incompatible protocol Im geting it too in Windows.

Same here... exact same.. not even seeing the launcher anymore.. goes straight to login, but the "Incompatible (protocol)" message is right there waiting...

I KNOW THIS WORKING FOR OTHERS ON WINDOWS.. my little brother said he had to update the launcher and then no probs at all.. is in there playing now... PLEASE LET THE MAC USERS IN! It doesn't even seem we're having launcher issues.. just login issues

looks like as soon as the launcher is closed, account names are removed from it. not all, just some

way to go ccp, your making it annoying as hell to log in


just open the bin folder in your eve file and click on exefile job done

well since launcher isnt working i cant update so i cant get in thru the eve exe file either.. i hope we all get like a free 2 weeks for this shat.....

Can someone from CCP confirm this as a fix. No offense, but dl'ing files from other players isn't something I am willing to try. File a bug report /show log as DEV posted. How is this done without being able to start the game?
Does CCP consider this launcher update a success since over 38-40K players have got there games running and the conclusion they came up with is "if you didn't get your game running the problem is you not us." Since the lack of DEV suggestions and support has me thinking the quoted text might be their train of thought. If someone is working on it great, if you think all is great in EVE and it is good to go. I have to disagree. Canceled my subs just in case your good to go as is if it changes and I can play again I will reup with you cause it is a great game.

o/ some handy info for anyone still suffering the effects of the launcher update.
If you cant log into eve because you have an incompatible build run the repair tool it will patch the eve file to latest version and you cant then log into eve by running the exefile.
Took a few min to think of the solution when i had prob with launcher being in offline mode but it works as im now logged in :D so hope this helps some ppl. o7 fs

that's great but still cant get in cause the status is incompatible (Protocol)

well i did the repair and decided to click on the normal icon that i use to load the game
it then proceeded to download a file then went through the normal stuff after an update
brought up the new loader then i had to wait for the instal to be validated then what do you now i was able to log in
really all it took was some patience on my part (after reading the rage in the forums

I am extremely please that i pay all this money every month to play a game such as eve. espicially when the devs fix all the unbroken mechanics within. I couldnt think of any better way to launch the game after a patch then physically take my hard drive apart to repair the new and improved launcher. the old launcher was so buggy that i could easily log in any time i pleased.
