I've updated the game manually and tried to run the repair.exe. I got this error log

Repair log

The launcher says that the server state is unknown and I cant log in in the game.

Also I cant load this link https://client.eveonline.com/launcherv3 (says that the service is unavailible)

I have the same issue. Can't access the link.

Not sure why everyone hates the new Launcher I think it's brilliant. I'm very happy with be able to login from the launcher especially since I run multiple accounts and to be honest I think this launcher is much less resource intensive or at least it seems to be draggable and moves quite deftly.

Keep up the good work CCP don't let the Sticks in the Mud make you take 2 steps forward and one step backward.

Just tossing in my two cents, but no, and no. Running Pingplot to 87.237.38.200 shows that everything is fine up until it reaches PACKET-EXCH.car5.London.Level3.net. Then the packet loss goes way up, like 90%+, and it's 1 or 2 hops from CCP's .cc servers. Perhaps something is afoot at that location?

http://eve-files.com/temp/eve-update-20130521.zip (it's the files that got modified for me today, 50mb)

Copy and while launcher will still most likely fail, start the exefile.exe straight from the \bin folder.

On your own risk ofc but worked fine for me.

Else many suggested running repair.exe which seems to work in some cases.

"On May 21, 2013, our web servers came under unusually heavy load which resulted in connection issues for all associated services that rely on the web servers, such as the EVE Launcher and the client repair tool. Our engineers have been investigating the issue with top priority and when this was written the investigation remains underway and will continue until the problem has been identified and services have been fully restored.

On May 21 we also deployed EVE Online: Retribution 1.2.4 and the new EVE Launcher. These deployments are not believed to have caused the underlying problem but are believed to have affected its manifestation. Updating the Launcher or the client requires connecting to our currently overloaded web servers and as a result, EVE Online players may not be able to either properly update your EVE Online client, the EVE Launcher, or connect properly to the Tranquility server to play EVE Online.

For anyone experiencing any of the above issues we would like to point out to this thread for further explanations and potential workarounds.

We sincerely apologize for any inconveniences caused by these unexpected server issues."

And? It's not like CCP cares one way or the other. They only care that you pay for two subscriptions, besides, I can't play the game right now at all and that's what matters. Don't be a **** thinking about your third account while people are still waiting to get in with their first account.

If CCP really cares about multiboxing players, you're seriously going to argue that steam users are supposed to get shafted because some idiot doesn't want to play with other people? Learn to be nice to the other players in this game, we all want to play, and I want support for the steam version of the game. Yet CCP has literally put no time or effort into putting the game into steam at all... I CAN ONLY DOWNLOAD INFERNO.

There's a problem when the version of the game from steam is still Inferno, it needs CCP to actually pay somebody to take care of it, or fire the idiot in charge of it.

This is to you and everyone else who is complaining. Stuff breaks and people work to fix it. If you can do a better job then why don't you go work for them or make your own game yeah? I cannot get into the game either but I am completely ok with it because I know the routine CCP goes through to maintain this game. Relax, go outside, go do something else instead of complaining about petty things.

The connection issues are being investigated. This is a simple (but extremely annoying) case of our webservers not responding.

If your settings are gone then please restart the client/launcher. This apparently was an issue that could happen with the old launcher update mechanism that we replaced with a better version.

There. That's more accurate now, isn't it?

Every time I run the launcher, it opens, but in the window I just get a message from my ISP saying that it could not be found (like when you try to access a domain name that is down or non-existent). Tried running repair.exe, which did nothing except remove itself from my EVE folder. Gone. Tried to start the game via exefile in bin, which worked. Game tells me that the client is incompatible (protocol), but a window pops up telling my there is a new build available. Click ok. Client closes and updates are downloaded, applied etc.

Run launcher. Still get error message from ISP. Run game via exefile again. Game client still incompatible, window telling me to install new build is still there. Run updates again. Launcher still not working. Game still incompatible. None of the workarounds in this thread work.

Like everybody else I had problems.

My solution that worked for me.

Ran the game repair tool. was very slow in responding and appeared not to be working but it was and fixing the program it took two attempts.

Then I ran the client got the error message cannot connet to eve. *This was a smallish box and not the usual looking screen.
Had a choice of either closing or starting Eve . selected start eve. It bypassed the launcher altogether and gave me a logon screen .

Poceeded to logon. worked twice

worked here too !!! thx

THIS WORKS!!!!

there will be approx 10 minute download for the repair tool's files

it fails the first time, but will work the second time

then it will work, i'm not running it from the launcher, i'm running it from the c:/prigrams(x86/)ccp/eve/bin/exefile.exe

One of the major reason why repair is failing is because your bloody launcher program gets stuck in memory and LOCKS it's lib support files.
Wtf are were you guys thinking here? Launchers should be standalone programs that if they fail, should exit the PC memory space without any traces. They SHOULD NOT lock files.

This has always been a problem since before and you're still pandering on unreliable technology.

EVE players don't seem to be very used to these kinds of meltdowns

Fun fact: this kind of **** happens and has happened for every software company

I know we all like to appear all ~edgy~ and act like we hate CCP, but objectively looking they don't really **** things up as often as others.

That said, I kinda need mah fix :( but by the looks I'll wait until they've patched the patch.

Nah we're used to it we're just a little spergy and CCP are not very quick.

Reality is patches in EVE, something always breaks, that's why it's a rule to set a several day skill before every patch day - although I don't think anyone saw this launcher coming.

We've had boot.ini, we've had countless number of game breaking bugs introduced from untested - or tested but not acted up on patches. Stuff like invisible ships, client crash after x amount of gate jumps.

Then you have deadlines to fix them they say 18:00 you should bet on 22:00.

New launcher doesn´t work at all, I keep seeing that it is in offline mode, attempted to launch trough the exefile don´t work, also I can Access both links but the first one they posted is really slow.
