Not claiming to have a fully working fix here - but it worked for me patching up my other computers so if anyone want to try go for it.

If the straight exefile.exe launch does not work and showing incompatible protocol you could try this file.

Torrent: http://eve-files.com/media/torrent/eve-update-20130521.zip.torrent

http://eve-files.com/temp/eve-update-20130521.zip (it's the files that got modified for me today, 50mb)

Copy and while launcher will still most likely fail, start the exefile.exe straight from the \bin folder.

On your own risk ofc but worked fine for me.

Else many suggested running repair.exe which seems to work in some cases.

/c

Can confirm this worked for me

Thanx Chribba, that worked.

Launcher still failing on both computers.

Just curious, what are, 'whinny obamas'?

Some type of new ship in Eve?

This is not a signature.

Eve is generally working well. This is the first really bad bug we have since a long time. I think CCP has earned a bit of advance good-will. And they are surely dont work harder or faster when you insult them, you wouldnt either.

this isn't just a bug , its like your mecchanic blowed up your car when he changed a light , and that in your own garage putting on fire your house and the 20 around yours ! Cry because he used a light that is known in the whole country to explode

They were looking for the "First Decade" stories. We should mark all this Launcher business as one of the "Second Decade" stories......

You know what would have been better than a new patcher? Making use of steam, instead of literally making me feel bad for having it in my steam list because it still says Inferno, of course when I installed it a few weeks ago it installed Eve Online: Incarna.

The fact that steam can act as a patcher, and the fact that the login screen was rather cool, focusing on using Steam as a patcher, or allow the login screen to patch would have been time spent right.

Fact is you don't really care for steam, you just have it because you wouldn't be considered "Above" it like the other guys.

Now I can't log in, and a fresh install from steam will still need to patch once I install it, using the old patcher. What is this decision and why did you go through with it when you KNEW there were issues with it. So now I have to wait for you to get off your arse and fix something. But guess what? I'm paying for a time based subscription, so every second I am unable to play, is money you have stolen from me.

Your new and improved launcher does Nothing, what a pile of garbage you rolled out.

Eve online is :

A) mining simulator B) glorified chatroom C) spreadsheets online

D) CCP Games Pay to Win at skill leveling, with instant gratification

Confirmed it works for me. The shortcut to *\bin\exefile.exe in on my desktop and it completely bypasses the funky "launcher".

How is it the launchers fault when the content servers die under load?

So the solution is to bypass the launchers until CCP fixes it? Can do.

Launched exefile. It did some updates and brought up a broken launcher again. No fix.

I have less than 24 hours training on one character, so I hope CCP figures this out soon. Or just let us manage the queue on the website already ...

OK, finally a solution from Chribba worked:
Quote:

Copied those files to the Eve folder and ran Exefile. Works. Not sure about the launcher but at least I can log in now. :)

SAME HERE, Thank you very much to CHRIBBA!

p.s
CCP, please do better QA :-)

Solved the problem here. Thanks Chribba!

CCP, it is one thing to roll out a bad launcher and web server troubles do happen in this business, but if a community member was able to come up with a solution, while your your response is this:
"If you have not updated your EVE Client to the latest version, there is unfortunately little we can recommend you to do except for waiting until our developers have fixed the situation."

Well, that is simply unacceptable.
