I had the same problems as everyone else in this thread. Got in after an hour Roll

- ran the launcher several times until it downloaded and installed the new (non-working) launcher
- went to evelopedia, searched for client repair tool, downloaded and copied it over repair.exe in the eve folder
- ran this repair.exe 3 - 4 times until it patched and finally completed without errors
- tried the launcher again, 10+ times, no good
- went to the bin folder and ran evefile.exe, got into the game

CCP are my favourite company but like they say on the school reports ... could do better

OK so before I knew what was actually going on, i filed a petition. This is the response from GM Stinger:

"Hello there,

This is a mass reply sent to all petitions concerning the EVE Online Launcher. An issue with the content web server has resulted in some problems which are made apparent by the launcher, while this issue is being investigated please be aware you can bypass the launcher by using the ExeFile.exe which can be found in the "bin" folder of the client directly.
Locate the folder where you installed EVE. If you are not sure where that folder is, see http://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/EVE_default_directories
From the EVE installation folder, open the folder called “bin” and there you will find the ExeFile.exe

Everybody needs to chillax - there's nothing you can do about the launcher not getting a connection to the server - it's a server-side problem. They are working on it right now.

Follow his advice above, and you will get to the old login screen and be ship spinning in moments.

The ExeFile.exe file is in C:\Program Files (x86)\CCP\EVE\bin usually.

Updated launcher, continually get the 'offline mode' error most other people are reporting. Attempted to start the game directly for the 'bin' folder .exe and am continually met with a prompt to download the launcher update -- it downloads and I'm back at the start with the offline error.

Well, this blows. I can't even update the launcher when I go to click on the old one. Running repair.exe also does nothing as well. Currently as this stands, I cannot even login to Eve, because if I start the client without using the launcher, I'm getting Incompatible (Protocol) on the login screen.

Brilliant f*cking job CCP.

same for me .. launcher doesn't work , repair doesn't work , link does open but can't launch the game

the only thing that works .. uninstall seems fine

but i payed two days agoo !!!!

I love connect the dots! But seriously the whole connect the dots thing you speak of is what I like to call "immersive gameplay". Maybe you will understand what I mean.

Have you tried closing the client and the launcher and then re-launching? It should restore your in-game settings.



Yes i have tried restarting the client , as far as restarting the launcher it never worked in the first place for me to restart it.
I'm currently using the work around method of using the EVE.EXE to launch the game, i have even tried copying and pasting my settings from my app dat folder to my new one and still nothing.

I have had a long day at work and realy can't be bothered trying to fix this this mess so I'm going to have to wait to the weekend b4 i will have time to get my quick bar back to where it was. On that note does anyone have 550misk to get me a plex seen as i won't be making money station trading anytime soon ? lol
