Not claiming to have a fully working fix here - but it worked for me patching up my other computers so if anyone want to try go for it.

If the straight exefile.exe launch does not work and showing incompatible protocol you could try this file.

Torrent: http://eve-files.com/media/torrent/eve-update-20130521.zip.torrent

http://eve-files.com/temp/eve-update-20130521.zip (it's the files that got modified for me today, 50mb)

Copy and while launcher will still most likely fail, start the exefile.exe straight from the \bin folder.

On your own risk ofc but worked fine for me.

Else many suggested running repair.exe which seems to work in some cases.

Can confirm this worked for me

SAME HERE, Thank you very much to CHRIBBA!

p.s
CCP, please do better QA :-)

Best solution to the problem, is to play ARMA II for a while.

Stuff breaks, its annoying, whats most annoying though is i have 3 accounts, two of which are going to be out of training in a few hours. Any plans for extra days Mr CCP sir?

WHAT?

HOW DID THEY DO THAT?

Sure they made the game, and pretend to maintain it. But we pay for a service, and like any other service, we would like to have what we pay for provided.

Pay some guy to fix your water heater, and he tells you it don't get hot, only warm. to bad, pay me. You are going to ***** slap him, then curb stomp him.

what's the difference? they got the money and we got ****!

maybe someday CCP will quit breaking what's working, stop giving us connect the dots lines in space, and actually begin ADDING content to eve rather than nerfing/modifying things so that what we already have doesn't work. thanks CCP

Yet Another wtf I can't log on eve moment...i wasn't carefully watching upcoming updates, luckily i didn't have any quick training skills in my queue... Please be done with this non-sense by tomorrow ... Or I shall begin a riot... isk, skillpoints and exotic dances will be the only way to end it... :)

I was having the 'offline' issue also. Quick workaround to get in game:

1. Run repair tool in C:\Program Files (x86)\CCP\EVE
2. After it finishes run direct from the bin directory: C:\Program Files (x86)\CCP\EVE\bin\ExeFile.exe

Worked for me.

Hi, I am having the same problems except when I navigate to this file there is no repair tool. Is this because I run the game through steam?

Also those two links mentioned earlier I cannot connect to either of them after like 10 minutes of trying.

CCP please fix problem

Yes, Steam has put EVE in the Steam tree.

For XP: C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\eve online

If I f*cked up this badly on an implementation I would be walked out of the door as soon as I had fixed it.

I would like to hear that heads have rolled tomorrow!

CCP YOU ARE TAKING THE ****!!!!!!

GIVE ME A T2 BPO TO MAKE UP FOR THIS!!!!! Or are they still exclusive gifts to Goons from the devs??

Well my uber coder, why don't you go show them how it is done? Better yet how about you start your own sci fi sandbox mmo and put CCP out of business? No? I thought so.

Too bad it doesn't work.....

Repair, open exefile directly, states incompatible protocol, forces a new download, which starts the launcher, which runs the update, which opens the launcher to tell me to play Eve offline.....Lol

Now any time I open exefile directly, it says update has been downloaded, closes to patch, starts the launcher update, and back to square one.

Well played CCP, well played....

And you might want to place a link to this thread at the top of GD....just sayin...Oops

When you are done fixing the launcher, which OBVIOUSLY NEEDS FIXING AT THIS POINT. Please get back to fixing POS and WIS like you should have done years ago. Ok thx.

o7 guys

Here is what worked for me:

1. Manual update (link from 1st post);
2. Starting the game from exefile.exe (no joy);
3. Running repair.exe (2 times - 1st attempt returned error) (C:\program files\ccp\eve)
4. Starting the game again with exefile.exe: success :) (C:\program files\ccp\eve\bin)

Fly safe (or not)
