Got it to work now also, I just needed to get that repair .exe running and then run ExeFile from the bin folder.

I only got the repair tool running in the safe mode, stick "-- safemode" to a shortcut, and run it as administrator, that tip worked for me. It may do the job anyway though aslong as you get it to run.

LOL! Are you actually serious? Please tell me no.

I don't think that is unreasonable actually. Ofc, it would be a lot easier to give everyone a free day.

Anyway, my wife wants to extend her thanks to CCP for rolling out a launcher that is successfully preventing me from playing EVE.

This.

Should she send the flowers to anyone in particular at CCP or just the head office in Reykavik?

Omg What are you guys doing finished work and try and log on to EVE but getting this C**P that I can't log in why don't you guys just leave alone And I don't want to be creating my own fix again so pull you're fingers out and crate a patch that make it work again.

I was having the 'offline' issue also. Quick workaround to get in game:

1. Run repair tool in C:\Program Files (x86)\CCP\EVE
2. After it finishes run direct from the bin directory: C:\Program Files (x86)\CCP\EVE\bin\ExeFile.exe

Worked for me.

Hi, I am having the same problems except when I navigate to this file there is no repair tool. Is this because I run the game through steam?

Also those two links mentioned earlier I cannot connect to either of them after like 10 minutes of trying.

CCP please fix problem

Unbelievable!

1. First, new launcher failed to even launch. Couldn't read anything about it-didn't know why it failed.
2. Launched again after restart of computer. Noticed new info about new launcher.
3. Downloaded new launcher--FAIL.
4. Ran REPAIR tool---FAIL
5. Restarted computer and downloaded new version of REPAIR tool.
6. This time REPAIR tool worked, but ended up failing.
7. Thought "Thank goodness it left me an error log, that will help CCP."--FAIL no error log

STUCK and waiting. Will probably have to uninstall everything and try a re-install tomorrow, after CCP fixes things on their end.

CCP, I know you're all working on this. Perhaps it would be a good idea to set up some way to beta test things like this before rolling them out. Just a thought....

Run repair tool from command line with added switch: repair.exe --safemode
Gave the safemode switch a go after literally no results from running the repair.exe file and received an "errors occured" dialog box pointing me to a log file. The contents of which read:

http://pastebin.com/j2eq8vq8

I find it incredible that I now need to go grab some assets from a non-compensated 3rd party developer in order to make your commercial service accessible because an unannounced patch (and / or related services) royally cocked things up.

Update #1: ran the repair.exe tool again and, after a minute or two, the repair tool GUI came up with a status of "Starting..." and "Repairing the EVE Online Client. Verifying the integrity of the EVE Online client and fixing files that are either incorrect or missing."

This is on an i7 with 12GB of ram... not sure what to expect of the repair.exe tool, but it it is using minimal resources while it is "running."

Update #2: Update tool progressed through its tasks finishing up in about 8 minutes. Went to the \bin\ directory and ran exefile.exe and the client launched with a valid connection to tranquility. \o/

Now to figure out how to re-configure my multi-boxing set up. *sigh*

Update #3: Tried launching one of my other clients and the launcher updated reflecting what everybody else is talking about: no content served up w/in the launcher UI AND tranquility labelled as offline. Time to go manually fix the alt client .exe references. This is dumb.

Tried this fix, didn't work. Just ran the ExeFile from the bin folder and it worked. This launcher stuff is just ridiculous.

Just download this and replace your files.

Open bin folder and use the .exe in there.

The official CCP policy (as confirmed by petitions since 2005 or so) seems to be: We cannot reimburse any projected presumed gains.

This includes skill point loss.

Dunno whether that Reid guy changes anything: He seems to be behind a few of the community good-will activities lately.

The repair tool says it can't find via my isp an internet connection.

Way to go CCP, good stuff.

Next time do some testing.
